Melbourne is a very pretty city at night with lots of memorable locations. / 30D, 24-70L,mirror lock-up+timer,24mm, 1/15th, f/11,iso100. I’d left my tripod at home so ended up balancing the camera and propping the lens with a Malteeses choclate box.

  • MUCH BETTER VIEWED LARGER THANKS FOR DROPPING IN COMMENTING AND IF I”M LUCKY FAVOURITING THIS WORK This shot was taken from McMahons Point on the North Shore of Sydney Harbour. The location offers views of Sydney Harbour Bridge,CBD and Opera House, as you can see one of the best times to experience the harbour is early morning when the sun hits the city and the harbour surface is as still as a pond. Shooting Details: Nikon D300, 5 bracketted images , Hand Held all exposures processed through photomatix

  • Brisbane, Au near Kangaroo point, at 4:42am / Taken 11/01/2009 This was a very spontaneous photo shoot…my husband woke up at 3am and out of the blue wakes me up saying, lets go take pics of the city pre dawn! / so sleepy eyed me agreed and off we went! this was one of many *safety note: / Please do not attempt this without proper safety precautions, knowlege of tide times and being in limber physical condition. / The sides are very slick and the climb up is over 8 feet with the initial point at the bottom being without footholds another note also, when the city cat or other boats are passing by, be prepared to leave quickly, as a wall of water will rush at you quite rapidly! Come visit us at: / JR Photography website and blog

  • Pulled out of the archives from a while ago… A 3 exposure HDR in Photomatix software. I saw these reflections and ran for the camera. Sydney Harbour like a mill pond before the many vessels start their morning trips and disturbing it’s surface. The other factor is that look to the water surface that landscape photographers might know it’s like a oily look to the water that lends itself to wonderful reflective surface. It took many shots of Sydney Harbour this morning, if, and you should have seen the sunrise that followed . WAIT ! yes i have photos of that as well. Equipment: Manfrotto Tripod, Nikon D300 Nikon 18-200mm Lens / Technique: 5 Bracketted Exposures, Photomatix 3.2, Capure NX See Also / Oh What A Beautiful Morning: Right Place Right Time:
