Heavy raining it was that day and I wasn’t the only one that managed to get some shelter.. “Edit” / Added a B&W version of this shot as well.
Well this is the shot that made it into the 2008 channel ten weather calendar, so I’m pretty proud of that.Getting this into the calendar was my first… ‘public’ recognition of my work so this is a pretty special shot to me. it is lightning over Adelaide looking down from Mount Osmond. It was taken in December 2006 and featured on the following nights news broadcast.
A summer afternoon downpour in the city. The streets washed clean, then it clears as soon as it came. More Sydney ...

This stencil was created in early 2008 inspired by fashion photography and damp cold London. Recently cut stencil with one layer from an older stencil of a zebra in pink on her dress, with hand drawn cobbled stones. The canvas itself is 3 times in length this is just a mere snap shot of the original piece. This piece is 1 of 3, utilising the same same stencil and composition of works I’ve posted on Red Bubble at the moment. The other is ‘snow and umbrella’ and ‘rain birds’
Original in private collection Watercolor on Arches 140# Hot Press paper. 18”W x 19 1/2”H This is an interpretation of a busy street scene on a rainy day in Chicago based upon a photo I took years ago. I have always wanted to paint the scene and finally put the brush to paper. It was a challenge to portray the light of a rainy day and the reflections on wet cobblestones but I was really pleased with the outcome and it has become one of my favorites. Giclee’s on cotton rag paper are available. Please bubblemail or email me for details on purchasing a giclee. Email – mbaileyart@gmail.com / /
Dangerous Days was the original name of the screenplay and film, Blade Runner. An interpretation of the city view, especially with the opening sequence in mind. A Replicant looks on, knowing her time is short. Blade Runner is one of my favourite movies of all time, and the book is another favourite, Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? On a similar theme: Dangerous Days: and Nexus 6

this is a combination manip/painting / I’ve been working on this for a couple of weeks – a little each night. I tried to add a lot more depth and light from the wet street. More shadows too….I wanted it to be modern – yet at the same time, have a long ago feeling. Does that make sense? / I didn’t want it completely straight either – meaning I wanted a tad of the impressionistic style. I got tired at the end – and my brush strokes got a bit sloppy at the top…but I went back and tried to make it better. I made this for a fried of mine who loves England…. / (a birthday present).
