A late night view of the New York City skyline and the Hudson River.
I was inspired by the contrast and affect of soft, quieting snow to busy city life and its bold structures. This was mainly painted using a palette knife and heavily textured with impasto. As we are nearing the 8th anniversary of 9/11, I wanted to post this shot of Lower Manhattan. I am a bit ashamed to say, that I have not seen the New York City skyline with the World Trade Center Towers. I can only imagine how magnificent it must have looked. We shall never forget!
And one sneaky photographer. Captured while riding the New York Subway. Converted to HDR via ReDynaMix, than dodge & burnt and otherwise edited in CS3 and Digital Lightroom. Taken with Nikon D200 and Nikkor 24-120mm lens. This image is currently on display at the Walls Fine Art gallery in Downtown Norfolk, VA. /
I previously had this photograph on Redbubble. I removed in August. I’m reintroducing with some layered enhancements of the original. The photo was taken of a window display while touring the city, New York City, that is. / / / Also available as part of these calendars / / / Featured in Buyer’s Club 10-12-09 / Featured in Eye Macros 10-14-09 / Featured in The World As We See It 10-17-09 / Featured in Buyers Club 11-18-09 / 318 views 11-9-09 / 32 Favoritings 11-16-09 / 418 views 11-20-09
