Image of a Citroen 2CV in Denmark’s oldest town of Ribe. These cars were somewhat similar to the Volkswagen Bug, it was referred to as the “Duck” or Ente in Germany. Ribe was established in the first decade of the 8th century – just imagine that !!!

A watercolour/mixed medium illustration on ‘cartoon’ style that includes many aspects of French provincial life-vehicles, street scenes, farms and animals, shops and buildings drawn from SW France examples. Colourful, vibrant and packed with sub-plots. Originally, the drawing was designed to French/English language students in ‘name this…’ and ‘count the cows…’ type exercises. Makes a great Poster!

Near my gran’father’s farm, in “la Nièvre”, a lost country in center of France, these two old “ladies” were waiting, blind and exhausted, their forbidden owner…. I used to play in this car, mainly used as hen shelter… then , I was on a long motorway, going through desert land or tracking gangsters !!... It was a really nice playground ! lol !

The title? Well, in France the old Citroen 2CV was known as the Deux Chevaux, meaning Two Horses, a reference to its somewhat less than powerful engine! By the way, this relic was captured in the Mosel wine producing region of Germany.
