The City Of Sydney was shot in the early morning, just after sunrise, on a muggy Autumn morning filled with cloud banks occasionally dropping buckets of rain across various suburbs. Above me, one of those cloud banks was moving towards the city, hence the dark foreground water. Frsh from its own recent dunking, the city in turn was fleetingly receiving the full light of the sun behind me, rising above its own cloud bank. The light was thus changing constantly. It wasn’t a case of being patient for the “right” moment. It was more a case of shooting differently and experimenting. Many were discarded, but many shots were also “keepers”.
