Acrylic painting and Apophysis overlays and so stand in another atmosphere, / where an undiscovered star we will never live to see / casts shadows on a grove of succulents we cannot yet imagine. / There our interchangeable features still vibrate and blur, / each smile one half of the circle, / each utterance spiralling like light / upward in shudders along the spine / as if the moon and you and I were slivers / of one mirror, gazing on herself at last From A Ceremony / Robin Morgan

I brought myself a new ‘old’ lens – a Pentacon M42 1.8/50mm from an old Praktica 35mm film camera. It has a 42mm thread so with a cheap adapter from ebay I can attach it to my D-SLR. I’m using the Sony A200 at the moment. Of course, it has to be used manually….but it has terrific bokeh. If you are unsure, Bokeh, (derived from Japanese bokeaji ボケ味, “blur”) is a photographic term referring to the appearance of out-of-focus areas in an image produced by a camera lens using a shallow depth of field.

Astyanax Arroz de Festa Astyanax – named after one of the several nymphalid butterflies, Basilarchia astyanax, recognisable by its blackish wings spotted with red. / Arroz de festa comes from the portuguese noun meaning ‘social butterfly’. / Our Astyanax here (on the right) is a real people person, loves company (rarely seen without Absinth by her side) and never goes anywhere without her red spotted black boots! In this piece Astyanax, an emerging artist, is portrayed during her debut show “Polka dots and Stripes” / Showcasing some of her more contoversal art, Astyanax likes to incorporate polka dots and stripes into her paintings, questioning the social boundaries of the times. / Showing at The Gallery for Freaks and Trippas, a place she frequents often, and is owned and managed by one of her many friends, Astyanax has never been happier! (tho she is suspicious of the photographer! lol!) originals drawn with biro pen on A4 paper / coloured in ps with airbrush. thankyou for taking the time to view my art and (hopefully) comment… / please have a look at my other artwork… / hope you enjoy! :) / Astyanax, Absinth and Azurite Verditer / Absinthe Verte / Azurite Verditer /

This picture reminds me of fairie wings blurring together in a spiral dance. It is very meaningful to me seeing the different red and blue colored wings blend into the spiritual color of purple. This was made by my new spirograph program.
