Acrylic painting and Apophysis overlays

Acrylic painting and Apophysis overlays and so stand in another atmosphere, / where an undiscovered star we will never live to see / casts shadows on a grove of succulents we cannot yet imagine. / There our interchangeable features still vibrate and blur, / each smile one half of the circle, / each utterance spiralling like light / upward in shudders along the spine / as if the moon and you and I were slivers / of one mirror, gazing on herself at last From A Ceremony / Robin Morgan

one of my personal favorite, maybe it’s because No.4 was the first piece on which I deliberately put the feel of “texture.” It carries a strong sense of movement that magnifies through the shade, color and geometric effect. Unlike other designs, I applied a horizontal view for this postcard design, and added a white space on the right, just for balance’s sake (the original aspect ratio of No.4 is 1.0). Anyway, enjoy. : ]

Ok, so this isn’t official, just a bit of fun on my part ;) I’m a MASSIVE Storm Thorgerson fan, the guy is my hero. / Look him up, you’ll understand. / stormthorgerson.com This is actually an image that will be used in David Lampard’s production of ‘Elegies: A Song Cycle’.. well, the balloons that is. The pig I added purely because I thought it smacked of Floyd, and it just had to be done. So here, just for you guys, is the silly version. The real pig-less version can be seen on my dA account here And if you’re interested in getting tickets to the production, please follow that link to the deviantART version as all the info is listed there. Digital composite of several shots taken at the same time as the balloons were released. Took a bloody long time to edit, but there are no repeats and it’s all my own work, save for the pig ;) Copyright 2008 Harmony Nicholas Oh and Mr Gilmour, if you’re watching, my rates are verrrrrry reasonable ;)

I haven’t created a new fractal in a while, so I thought it was time. For some reason, I just can’t break myself away from the whole sphere thing. Even my paintings when I was younger all had some sort of sphere. Someone once told me it was my secret signature, who knows? Don’t ya just love the title though? The tones of this piece reminded me of coffee with lots of cream, maybe a rounded sugar cube, hense the Expresso reference. And the rest, well hey, it’s an abstract, I can name it any ridiculous name I want! LOL (ok, so I’m watching Ghost Hunters, so apparition just stuck in my head :P ) Created in Apophysis 3d Hack This piece was featured in the Abstract Art group and the Fractal Frenzy group. THANK YOU!! “

Since greeting cards are officially available on RB, I decided to let one of my favorite babes join the big pool as well. This piece was created based on the idea of fractal, though I didn’t use any fractal softwares to make it. I will write more details on this later on. By the way, if you want a print of mighty big scale (36”x36” to be exact), it’s availabe on my shop.

This piece is relating to how I am a virtual architect. The lattice spheres represent the inner child trying to escape and the golden globes symbolize the delicate balance between light (Happiness) and heaviness (Burdens). Throughout life we are always challenged especially in the facets of emotions and we strive for some perfection in an area of our life. The sky is brooding, it abounds with beauty but easily could turn into a storm like our emotions. The ground is solid but with imperfections. The outer sphere coveting the lattice sphere is symbolic of protecting ones own heart. The absence of forms in the golden sphere represents loss as we all suffer loss in friends, family, pets, and even faith. The spheres blended into the ground bare the relationship to being grounded and not losing touch with reality, but as you can see sometimes if we do its only for a brief moment. The shadows, simple…sometimes we hide behind ourselves in fear of rejection or exceptance with others. We all have the right to be individuals, but we choose to live as we want, and we should love who we become in the end. My art is my escape, a way to handle emotions, loss, share happiness, vent anger, seek intimacy, etc. If you take the time to notice what I title my pieces by, you can see many aspects of me and who i am, whats going on in my life at the moment. Art is an expression of emotions and sometimes we have to be our own Virtual Architect in life.©2007 / . / . / .Lisa C. Wicker is a method of weaving, structural intent / Cloth is also woven, rather simply, much less structure but flexible / Carpets are woven, colors woven in rather than being dyed or painted / Baskets are also woven, some underwater Life is like something woven Weaving is similar to layering / over under, over under, at the simplest / Onions have layers / The earth has layers / Good lasagna has layers Life is like something with layers Art allows us to weave with layers, expressing things that may not have meaningful verbal expression…. Another Mandala :)
