Another in the fairytale series. A different photographic approach this time, which I plan to try out again with my next shot based on the Rupunsel tale. My dear friend Hilda was an excellent model, she posed so well I have many great shots from that day. But I have chosen this one for the series because I love the look on her face, kinda of guilty and not pleased at being sprung making soup out of those pumpkins she’s supposed to use to turn into coaches for young lasses to attend balls in. /

Featured in Yellow Fever / (Thanks Everyone) Featured in Challenge Cafe for the Fairy Tales Challenge Contest / Airbrushed and mixed media Here is one of my newer pieces, it’s the WINNER of the Faerie World groups competition , “The Brothers Grimm”. Thanks to everyone who took the time to vote for me and those that support my work! Excerpt from Grimm Brother’s, Cinderella Story “Now that no one else was at home, Cinderella went to her mother’s grave beneath the hazel tree, and cried out: Shake and quiver, little tree, / Throw gold and silver down to me. / Then the bird threw a gold and silver dress down to her, and slippers embroidered with silk and silver. She quickly put on the dress and went to the festival….read more This is my artistic depiction of the Grimm Brother’s Cinderella. I used artistic license to add the fairies to the tree, the flowers and her dress. I even created a special fairy showering Cinderella with magic creating her dress, her crown, the carriage and horses. This is my first novel. you can buy a pre release copy on the website : www.ihatecinderella.com It is a joint effort with gorgeous illustrations by Jovan de Melo”:http://www.redbubble.com/people/jovandemelo ( who i met on Red Bubble)- here is the text from the back of the book. Please see the website www.ihatecinderella.com to reserve a copy. Due for release in December Forget the fairytale. Make your own! Who hasn’t had their heart broken? / Who hasn’t cried for days and been unable to eat, sleep or concentrate? / Who can honestly say they haven’t asked their best friend: “When will this pain stop? / When will I get over him?” This book is for those girls, for all of us. / Those girls who let some guy into their heads and hearts, putting aside their own plans and ambitions, to later feel there is nothing left inside their heart anyway. Lucy Summers is one of those girls. Three weeks after her heart has been broken, she travels for work, when the plane crashes halfway. She falls deep into the ocean where she is saved, as only a loving mother, a patient best friend and a healthy dose of chocolate could do, by a mermaid named Obelia. Together they reignite Lucy’s passion for drawing and re-establish her sense of her self-worth. / Lucy learns that you have to know what you want to be able to get it! This book will give you the tools to heal your heart, your head / and your sense of self. ‘A stunning debut novel that takes you far from here.’ ‘A wonderful book for a broken heart.’ ‘I hate Cinderella is inspiring, evocative and delightful.’

This is a drawing of my daughter Grace, who is 7, with Lucky, one of our cats. Grace was cleaning up the fireplace one day – just for fun, (she wouldn’t do it if I asked her too :)), and the cat became very interested. The whole scene was just overwhelmingly like something out of Cinderella – hence the title.
