I became fascinated with the architecture of the building and had to photograph it one day. This picture was actually taken during the day. I used Photoshop to alter the color scheme and inserted the full moon from another shot that I had previously taken. It’s all about the perspective! • A most incredible church at Sternberg (near Velden in Austria). Perched precariously on top of the mountain, this church enjoys incredible views over the valley and lakes below. Also from the same beautiful church: Mozart and the euphoria of singing, singing, singing… When I embarked upon my journey at the beginning of this year, I made a list of things that I wished to explore or enjoy… in my quest to overcome my terrible afflictions with depression, anxiety, insecurity, guilt and anger. It was an ambitious list, for a man in my state of mind at the time: In my first few weeks, I managed to successfully tick off just about everything on my list… except for the ‘choir bit’. So, this week… I finally joined a choir. And not just your average backyard choir… but an incredibly talented bunch of people who call themselves the Gold Coast City Choir. I have thrown myself in at the deep end and committed to joining the group, as they prepare for their busy Easter performance schedule. Amongst the song list for their Easter recital is the hauntingly rich and intoxicatingly powerful “Requiem Mass” by Mozart (one of my newly discovered favourites is Lacrymosa). Over the past few days, I have completely immersed myself in the world of Mozart. It has been twenty years since I read sheet music, I have never before sang in a choir and had never listened to ‘Requiem Mass’ until this week. But goodness, it just feels so very right. Mozart is now playing in my world… every waking hour (I even wrap my MP3 Player in plastic bags to listen to Requiem Mass whilst kayaking…. oh bliss….). It is such a dream to be singing this beautiful music. / All spruced up and heading off to my very first choir session… Some photos from the Choir’s website ... So. With my mind filled with all things Mozart and Requiem Mass, this image just seemed to flow out of my mind… a church in Austria (the birthplace of Mozart) under full moon on a rather haunting night: [Creative Effects: Contrast/brightness/shadow adjustments, Colour Removal, Blue Photo Filter, Three Omni Spotlights with Photoshop]

  • St Paul’s Cathedral, Melbourne. I was out in the city tonight and happened to have the camera on me. This is the same Cathedral from Alien Spy Cam, straight from the camera. • Still to this day Chad hated walking by this place, even in the day time it brought back horrible memories, and at night it was just terrifying, but unfortunately he had to work late, and there were only two ways home, and right now the other choice was not an option since the town bully and his clan were all gathered down the other street..slowly he walked..closing his ears and mind to the wind moaning..but it didn’t help, all he could hear was his brothers screams…even 5 years later.. / It was a night like this..they were walking home from the movies, laughing and joking around, trying to freak each other out since they just got done watching a horror movie..when all of a sudden his brother stopped dead in his tracks..the look on his face scared the hell out of Chad, following his brothers stare..he seen it there in the dark in the shadows of the trees it stood the most horrifying thing they have ever seen..its eyes weren’t there..hollow sockets dripping blood..its mouth opened in a scream..teeth so sharp they knew if it got a hold of them it would rip them to shreds..it started to float towards them..Chad grabbed his brothers hand and ran..ran like hell..both too scared to scream..not looking back..just as they were about to make it to their yard, he heard the most awful sound..a shriek from the depths of Hell and felt the tug on his arm..he turned and looked ..thinking his brother had fallen..and all that remained was his brothers glove..still clutched in Chads hand… / He knew after all these years his brother was gone..and he had to face his fears, either be beat to a pulp by the town bully..or walk through his nightmare and come out alive and free..he had to be free from this..he picked up his pace..walking past the spot where he last seen his brother… feeling the nightmare behind him.. Relief washing through him..then he heard it..his name being called..not by a normal voice..it was more a growl..NO more like a wet gargled moan..and there in the shadows stood his brother..what was once his brother..now he had those same hollowed eyes..and he was floating towards him..out of the shadows…arms raised..teeth bared..and then Chad was being dragged..pulled..and ripped through the shadows and into the night… Nikon D90 / 18-200mm VR Lens Old church door.
