  • Our Lady Help of Christians Church

  • This is one of the oldesst churches in St. John’s. I thought the bare tree branches added to the mysterious and eerie feeling of it. / / / Visit my website On The Rock Photography / /

  • Mission in San Diego, California, at sunset.

  • Stormy Church – Thank you to RichieDean who helped me with the sky on this and a few other bits and pieces – You are great Richie! /

  • acrylic on canvas END OF DAYS Red sky in the morning, you’ve had your warning / the wolves are running, the end is coming See the white bird flying, he’s got a heart just like a lion / see the sun descending, on a world that fears an ending See the snake a creeping, as the children are a sleeping / there’s a tower in the middle, it’s built of death and lies and riddles Only love can set you free Sheep rushing to the fold, a remnant neither bought nor sold / a single shepherd on a rock, face all the nations for his flock see the light in motion, hits the earth just like an ocean / soon the sky unravels, stars fall down like so much gravel Look away from all your idols, this cursed earth is suicidal / lift your eyes up to the sky, see the heavens, see the heavens eye to eye only love can set you free

  • Built around 1815 this church in the hills of Chimayo, New Mexico, is considered a masterpiece of colonial folk art and architecture and has been deemed a National Historic Landmark. Famed for its miraculous cross and the healing powers of the soil, the Prayer Room is filled with candles, cards & crude hand made shrines as well as crutches and braces testifying to miracles. Directly across the road they sell the best chili powder money can buy. /

  • Another shot from my cemetery series. This shot really caught my eye, man lays asleep waiting for the resurrection and nature lays dormant waiting for that breath of new life come spring. The orange of the leaves is a promise and a sign of hope that this is not the end of life but only the beginning. / / More in this cemetery series: / / / / / / Visit my website On The Rock Photography / / /

  • “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” Matthew 5:16 / / (shot in B&W) / / /

  • “Now I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war.” Rev 19:11 These are the days of grace. The King is giving His creation time to come to their senses, and even now has His nailed-scarred hand extended out to humanity, to all who will come to Him. He offers peace, salvation, and forgiveness. Yet, as any earthly king knows well, there will be those who contest His right to rule over them, and these objectors will have to be absolutely dealt with in order to establish His absolute monarchy. Why not acknowledge His might now? I certainly have, for I don’t want to be one of the countless rebels who are forced to bend the knee and confess Jesus Christ as Lord. I want to be “in good” with the Great King who is soon returning to reign and rule. Is this the Jesus we think about often? I would say, “No”. Yet, consider these words penned by King David, a man who knew his King quite well. “Now therefore, be wise, O kings; / be instructed, you judges of the earth. / Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling. / Kiss the Son, lest He be angry, / And you perish in the way, / When His wrath is kindled but a little. / Blessed are all those who put their trust in Him.” From the Book of Psalms / Psalm 2: 10-12 / †New King James Version For an even longer artist’s description of this piece, and if you have the patience to read my rambling thoughts, please see my other gallery

  • . / .. / ... Peter was trying to avoid capture by the people persecuting Christians when Jesus appeared to him. Peter uttered this question… / “Quo vadis, Domine?” / “Where are you going, Lord?” / Then came the reply… “I am going to Rome to be crucified again.” At that moment, Peter knew the time had come for him to give up his life for the sake of Jesus. He surrendered himself to the authorities in Rome who had him put to death on the cross. This once cowardly fisherman boldly requested to be crucified upside down… “For I am not worthy to be crucified in the same manner as my Lord.” ... / .. / . Years and Decades and Centuries PASSED, The Persecuteds BECAME the Persecutors. / “QUO VADIS …?”

  • Daily I struggle with my faith, / has my God turned his back on me? / For I feel so all alone, / my eyes they do not see; The beauty that I used to cherish, / of the life in which I live, / I now dwell upon problems in life, / Which to the Lord I used to give. Now I dont know where to turn, / Im not sure what to do; / Am I all alone in life? / Lord I long for you! For I miss the daily walk, / that we used to share. / Please tell me you still love me Lord; / Please let me know your there.
