At the “All Saints Chapel” located on the capus of the University of the South in Sewanee TN. Begun in 1905, the Chapel was completed in 1959. The Chapel’s foundation is oriented so that the main axis of the church lies on an east-west line. In keeping with an ancient Christian practice, the altar is located on this axis toward the east. By means of this architectural design, All Saints’ Chapel provides a literal orientation for the university.

I know its been done a thousand times before (with over 25 versions on RB as I post this), and is simple to do, but why not? What may be different is the book it rests on – unlikely that another copy survives, and this one came from an old library – dated 1904, it was a short run of multiple volumes on English Church History. Also, the ring is a mans ring. I chose this book over a bible for two reasons – I wanted to keep to context of the meaning of the ring within the Christian faith, but not to use the usual bible or dictionary, and secondly, I enter a new phase in my life – this picture allows me to put to rest something which would have been better if it had never happened in the first place over 30 years ago….......... With the closure of the book, comes a new beginning…..
