Built around 1815 this church in the hills of Chimayo, New Mexico, is considered a masterpiece of colonial folk art and architecture and has been deemed a National Historic Landmark. Famed for its miraculous cross and the healing powers of the soil, the Prayer Room is filled with candles, cards & crude hand made shrines as well as crutches and braces testifying to miracles. Directly across the road they sell the best chili powder money can buy.

Taken at the main plaza in Mexico City, Mexico. Shot of a native indian dressed in traditional garb for a performance. As I walked by he was standing on a bleacher in the center of the square in front of the cathedral. I found the contrast between the native dress and the Spanish Colonial church interesting and poignant.

A portrait of Jesus Christ with bubble-like clouds and bubbly scallops at the end of one of the background graphics. I chose to depict Jesus in this graphic manner without fleshtones in order to overthrow the stereotypical Jesus that is widely familiar to the public therefore taking a step toward making HIS image more inclusive to people of all cultural backgrounds. I do admit that HIS facial structure and wavy hair excludes the characteristics of many cultures.
