  • St Mary’s Cathedral, Sydney.

  • Oil on paper. I can literally paint at least 100 versions of this architectural wonder and each one would look different. From the pre-drawings to this version that you see here, I realised there was so much depth and detail to choose from, and the building’s different colours of stone, originally brought from different parts of the world, made it look prismatic. Hence the three main colours I used: yellow, red and blue. Depending on the sunlight and my state of mind though I could have done this a million other ways. The building just inspires me so much that I wouldn’t mind if someone sentenced me to painting only this for the rest of my life!

  • De Oude Kerk, Amsterdam. PS-A95. the city’s oldest church built in 1260.

  • I am not religious, at all, but i do find religious things interesting. / This is the city of Leeds Cathedral (well a small part of it!)

  • This shot was taken at Dawn from the building I work in it shows the Spire of St Francis Xavier Church at Lavender Bay in the North Sydney CBD. The Sydney Harbour Bridge links the North Sydney CBD with the Sydney CBD. There has been a church on the site since the early days of the settlement of the colony of Sydney Town. The shot was taken using a Nikon D300, Nikon 18 – 200mm lens , for any Nikononians the 18-200mm lens is wonderful it comes in handy as a all purose lens. The shot was created from 4 exposures and processed with Photomatix HDR software. So continues my exploration of HDR.. its fun

  • Combination one room school house, church, community building, and town hall. These structures are scattered through out the Ozark Mountains, and the foothills of Arkansas. Sooooooo…... These types of scenes are very familiar to me, living here in the good ol’ natural state. My very first years of school began in a one room school house almost identical to this one, and it is now long gone.. When I look at this photograph, I can still see us all running, and playing in the school yard, and hear all of our laughter, and screaming. All the sounds of the children playing, as we went along in our merry, carefree younger days. I remember…........

  • Prague seen from Petrin Lookout Tower (Petrinska Rozhledna), Czech Republic. More than one year ago, I’ve got fascinated by some overlay works presented in various PS fora. Last year, I found about RB and soon could admire beautiful composite works of e.g. John Edwards here at RB. Inspired by many of those images here at RB or elsewhere, I’ve been planning to put my hands on some overlay work too, but I only got to it in recent days, ultimately inspired by The Wilds Of France by onefourseven (thank you, Mat, both for inspiration and a link to textures!). / This composite is my first result on the theme, composed of my original photograph and three textures from cgtextures.com. Comments and suggestions welcome! Original photograph: May 2008, Canon EOS 300X, Sigma 28-135. Post-processing: retouch, BW conversion, curves, sharpening, sepia, color adjustment, shape cut, filter gallery, overlay by three textures from cgtextures.com with adjusted brightness/contrast/levels/color, color adjustment, blend modes; final file: 24 layers, 5540×3693px, approx. 1.5GB, color profile conversion 10min, saving time >5min.
