If I could sum this up in one perfect word, it would be Ragadellic. Don’t you think? I guess one of my guilty pleasures are Chuck T’s. You just can’t get a more perfect shoe. This is the Converse Generation as they say. / Everyone takes photos of Allstars, I know, but they are a good subject, so why not? This is my first attempt of a Converse shot, and I think I did pretty well. by Ken PowersThe Chuck Taylor All-Star Tennis Shoe was introduced in 1917 and changed the face of sports footwear for generations. They are still popular today and remain relatively unchanged although their country of production is different. These are a pair of my old beat up “Chucks” that just beckoned to be painted. I was going to up the values of the shoes a touch in this composition but I kind of liked the subtle glow that was achieved by keeping the shoes lighter so I left it in its current state. The piece is painted with Rublev 18th century reproduction watercolor paint on Arches 140# cold-pressed paper. The Rublev paint adds nice texture when repeatedly glazed. The original is 14” x 10” in size. Featured in Painters in Modern Times group in August 2009. /

Silhouette art of kids playing on the urban streets on the way home from the supermarket. Mr Crow is eyeballing the situation. Chuck taylors hanging from the overhead wires. Kids using the trusty trolley as a means for transport. Luckily they remembered the 2 litre milk for mum! Note that the colour of the shirt you chose determines the colour of the silhouette.
