Taken in Finland (Lapland) in Dec 2006. It was around -30C and I needed to keep taking the battery out the camera to warm it up in my glove to give it a few minutes more power. Thanks for looking (best viewed large!).

To better VIEW THIS PHOTO select option VIEW LARGER As you well know if you tried to capture cardinal that these birds are very delicate and scared…even a slight movement less yet shutter will scared them to fly out…...It took numerious tries to get a right shot….And i still am not satisfied…..now shooting these at the feeders is different story..Just like hummingbirds on the feeder….Well since i am big on wildlife i dont do that and i dont take photos in the zoo’s….I beleive in natural…This shot was taken in wilderness and is as natural as it can get….I dont mind waiting and waiting….maybe i am little selfish too when it comes to sales of these photographs …as well as pricing… / I like everyone to know that makes a great difference when wildlife photographer true wildlife photographer who goes into wilderness, camps and freeze sometime to get that real shot…Also at today’s gas prices also makes a difference why most of my prices are high…4×4 drinks lots of gas… / But i do bring the quality at the front of your eyes..and i do appreciated support and coments and favorites and exposure…..Have a great HOLIDAY SEASON….. To better VIEW THIS PHOTO select option VIEW LARGER The Northern Cardinal is one of the birds that is found in the Rouge. ..............................The male is bright red, with a black bill, while the female is grayish with a pink crest and bill. They are fairly common in Ontario and Quebec, and have been sighted in New Brunswick…............................. They frequent woodlands; but cardinals may be attracted to your back yards, with bird feeders well stocked with sunflower seeds. They are shy; yet curious; and the slightest motion or camera sound will cause them to take flight. Photographing them with any degree of success takes time. The image was taken on a gray RAINY overcast day; the result being saturated colors…..Bird was singing on the tree…while it was drizzling rain…I was covered with rain coat and hat with camera wrapped in the plastic….so the title came to me as SINGING IN THE RAIN by Frank Sinatra…. / / TECH: Nikon D200 camera, nikon 600 mm wildlife lens F8 at /15 sec shutter speed…. A different perspective on the world. Also a nice seasonal picture. It’s a picture of glass globes that have been hanging in the front window at home and I took the picture through them into the winter wonderland outside. It’s not a recent picture, it was taken two, maybe three winters ago. Thought I’d put it up and let it get some exposure! I’m really happy with how it turned out! I hope you enjoy this piece. Taken today at a beautiful Christmas Carol service at Fountains Abbey – the children were given candles and we had mulled wine – not an easy combination with a two year old who refuses to have her wild hair tied back and a mother who has wine in one hand and a camera in the other – thank goodness for dads :0) * /

Its not really what i had in mind as a christmas-photo, but i have thought for weeks, and couldnt come up with something more original. / The reason you see his tongue ,is because he had no interest at all in this christmas-decoration, So i put some marmalade on it. You have to use some tricks so now and than …..thats why he hasnt loose weight yet….
