Other Christmas Cards and Art by Karin / / How many sales so far – 3 sales so far! / / / The Chinese Chop symbol with my initials was created by and comes courtesy of the lovely Keith Richardson / A Rainbow of Angels I drew ‘A Rainbow of Angels’ with a pencil over brown paper which had previously been painted with stripes of white gesso… I coloured it in with chalk pastels, coloured pencils and charcoal, and outlined it using black felt tip pens and charcoal After that we had some fun in Photoshop…and that’s when ‘A Rainbow of Angels’ came to life… This might make a cute Christmas card or tshirt for a special person or three :) / /

We all need and hope for an angel to be watching over us, and this angel is especially for Christmas and the little one’s nursery. This one is so dear to my heart, and also especially designed for Christmas and the Calendars R Us Group Challenge for the next Christmas Calendar. I have been thinking about doing an angel for a long time, and finally this gave me the impetus to get moving on it. The brown paper is from a large roll of kraft, slathered with white gesso (acrylic paint) and handdrawn in pencil, then black felt pen…then coloured with colour pencil, chalk pastel, charcoal, and blended well….. later on, the design has been cut out in photoshop and a few extras applied to finish off…. A tshirt is available in this design also, and a children’s tee will soon be available through zazzle.

/ / / Christmas Rainbows Nativity is a mixed media production on brown paper / I used white acrylic gesso under, with a mix of chalk pastel, black marker and charcoal to create this little piece especially for Christmas 2008 You may notice that each character has a Heart… / Jesus’ heart is white – symbolic of his purity / Mary has a pink heart – symbolic of a mother’s gentleness and softness / Joseph’s heart is red – symbolic of father’s strength and reliability The idea of sending Rainbow Wishes for Christmas 2008 seemed appropriate in light of our global situation, the Rainbow stands for Hope or Promises made that they will be fulfilled…. I think we are all hoping for the fulfillment of the promises made to us by our governments, our leaders, our friends and family for PEACE and GOODWILL towards all men, regardless of race or creed….and not least of all God himself who spoke about rainbows being a sign of promise and hope, and also Jesus who’s birth it is we celebrate, mainly because of the hope his birth put in our hearts for true freedom from our chains (but if you are not a believer, the artwork still speaks of the promise of hope…..if not a believer in hope…then this one isn’t for you …but perhaps it will speak to someone’s heart and help spread a little hope for the future around )

/ / / Love is a Big Hug / / / / Love is a Big Hug / / Love is a BIG Hug TShirt is my latest super-cute design on brown paper using mixed media… chalk pastels, charcoal, felt tip pen, coloured pencil and photoshop were used in this mixed media creation BEST VIEWED LARGE… JUST CLICK ON THE TEE TO SEE AN ENLARGED VERSION OF THE DESIGN For a long while now, i’ve had an image burned in my brain of a little girl holding out her heart… I have had dreams of myself doing the same sort of thing… and this was what i came up with. I didn’t mean for it to be so super-cute… perhaps i’ll do a more serious version someday…with her heart held in her hands… but for now, here’s the cute version…by far the cutest thing i’ve ever created! Stay tuned for the huge version of this design, as well a a pyjama top version!!! coming soon….to a bubble near you!!! Hello everyone, meet Kenny! Kenny’s a young baby tortoise.. He’s quiet and shy but very loving.. he loves to nudge Julian with his little head.. and with his super cute baby eyes, Julian can’t help but adopt lil Kenny as his godson.. (bet he didn’t know that lil Kenny will outgrow him in size one day.. kekeke…) Yep, Kenny’s currently living at the same beach Tim and Julian posed for Summer Fun.. XD / this is my first time coloring with a wacom.. pretty fun.. X) / will play with my wacom a lil more often, and hopefully bring more colorful characters to life.. =) my depression is still making me sorta.. umm.. not really wanting to communicate, but i’ll work hard to communicate more, promise!!
