  Geez, lately …. i just can’t get rainbows out of my head…....so I’ve been doing lots of them, you’ve probably noticed….. there’s a message in that….. just HOPE / Hopefully, the rainbows bring more HOPE and more thinking about HOPE…. often I find I lose hope…so this influx of rainbows is as much for me as anything….i think i’m very focussed on them right now, because it’s so easy to lose sight of hope, and Christmas is a time to refocus on that which brings hope to ourselves, and gives hope and spreads a light to others i guess….. Anyways… enough rambling….did you make it this far.?? thank you if you did…..   It took a while tonight, but I eventually found a few links to the winners of that fantastic photo competition we all entered a few months ago! Whilst I was not a winner in any of the categories (I had submissions in three of them), I’m still winning by being a registered member here. See, I am selling my work. I use my RedBubble gallery as a base to display my work … and I sell a lot of photographs offline! Last week I had 60 prints (at 6inch x 4inch) of my photography on RedBubble printed at TEDS in Rundle Street in Adelaide . No big deal. Took them to work yesterday. Showed a few women. Within an hour, quite a few of those ladies put instant requests in. A couple just wanted more 6×4’s, and one wants a couple at A4 size. Late this afternoon one remarked that I should have brought in MORE cards for Father’s Day! Damn, but I had a good come back line, Next Year!. Actually, I’m planning to get about 100 to 200 printed through RB before the end of November – for Christmas cards. I’ve been informed they should sell VERY fast! So now we are moving a few steps ahead: Tomorrow we (the wife and I) are getting 20 x A4 prints of these photographs, all of which are on display on RB: From SaharaBelle’s Collection / 1. Waiting But what then? , I hear you all cry out! Well, I’m forming a portfolio. / Next year I’d like to do a proper photographic course. I’ve been waiting twenty-something years to afford to do this … which is WAAAY too long. After watching younger people around me jump into fantastic jobs and positions over the last few months, I’ve decided it’s FINALLY time to and be more. All the photographs above will be put into a new A3 folder I purchased some time ago. Then I will take that around with me to show off. You want to buy one? OK, either you buy straight from the folder (though I am not sure about that idea), or I take your details and deliver. The whole concept is still being worked on, so we have some planning to work out. My father is an astute business man, and I have a brother whom is a brilliant salesman … so I hope to get both their time-tested advice on certain issues very shortly. / The folder will also be used to convince Adelaide TAFE that I am a worthy student. I won’t write my sales-pitch to the TAFE here, it’s a little corny … but all very true. More about the next stage of this new adventure in my life will be on display over the next week. And I’ll be writing about how we plan to build a Home-Studio and the New Kitchen over the coming months!   Yeah, we don’t see this every day. I bought a bunch of cards of my work and quite a few of my favorites from other artists, plus a large laminated print of one of my own called “Yosemite Day” which I have always liked. This site does not charge us a dime to be here and I suspect I will get some of this money back someday. The holidays are coming and every year I do more and more shopping online for it, so I may be back soon after I decide just who may want what.   “BEEP, BEEP!” I hear again, interrupting me from my enjoyment of works here on RedBubble. Somebody’s persistent I think to myself….

  “BEEP, BEEP!” I hear again, interrupting me from my enjoyment of works here on RedBubble. Somebody’s persistent I think to myself. I get up and walk to the window to peek out the curtains. The mail lady is hanging out the window of her car looking desperately for movement inside the house. She sees me, and I smile at her. I walk to the front door, open it up and lean out. / “The driveway’s not plowed, and I have a package for you. Should I pull around to the side of the house?” / “That’d be fine,” I reply. “I’ll be out in a minute.” / I throw my boots on and tuck the bottom of my Superman pajama pants into them. I think about fixing my hair, as it’s a mess, but realize that there’s probably no chance of it getting any better, so I abandon the idea. I look disheveled, but I don’t care – so my neighbors will think I’m crazy…tough noogies. There’s a package out there waiting for me, and I think I know where it’s from. / It’s bitterly cold outside, and the snow seems to blow right through my sweatshirt as I amble up to her little SUV. She talks a bit about the weather as she gets the slip she needs me to sign. As she’s fumbling I look down at the package in her lap. It’s thin, but very long ant tall – and it’s wrapped in red tape. This induces much excitement as my mind swiftly pieces together where this package came from. I frantically look at the parts of the package I am able to see, and sure enough on the return address I see two those glorious words in neatly written ink: Red Bubble. / I sign as quickly as I can, though my fingers don’t want to work because they’re so cold. She scans the things she needs to scan to verify delivery, and hands the package out her window to me. I tell her to drive safely in the snowy weather, and make my way to the house, package beneath my arm. / I enter the front door, kick off my boots, run to the kitchen for a knife, and proceed to scramble to open the package. I finally get it open, and there it is – my first order from RedBubble. / Neatly packaged between a few layers of cardboard, I find the framed print I ordered of my own piece Lake Superior Shoreline as a Christmas gift for my sister. / With abundant amounts of tape holding it to the packaging for the print, I also see that a small clear envelope with my Merry Christmas cards in it has made its way here. The small clear envelope could be a stroke of genius itself, as it adds a temporary waterproof element to the cards – which is a must in this weather, as the snow we’re getting here is lake effect, which means it’s very heavy, and very wet. /
