Decided to give winter holidays greeting cards a try this year :) It appeared that it’s so fun to make them and also they bring some holiday mood to my home… We go to Ukraine to visit our parents and friends on winter holidays, so I kind of excited and can’t wait already ;) / I’ve also set up a little winter holidays shop over at zazzle . Hope you’ll come visit me there! :) /
Andrew Jonhson was the only Senator from the south that kept his seat at the beginning of the Civil War.Even though Johnson was a slave owner and believed in states rights,he remained a strong Unionist. At the beginning of the war Johnson returned to Tennessee to try to convince the state to remain in the Union. However,Tennessee left the Union in June of 1861.By 1862,Union forces had taken over most of the state and Lincoln appointed Johnson as Military Governor of Tennessee. In 1864, The National Union Party nominated Johnson as Lincoln’s vice presidential candidate.Johnson became president upon Lincoln’s assasination.Johnson tried to follow the ideas of Lincoln concerning”reconstruction”,of the former Confederate states, however,he was challenged by the more harsher policy advocated by the radical Republicans in Congress.Impeached by the House of Representatives,he remained in office by just one vote. / After his term ended ,Johnson returned to his home in Greeneville,Tennessee.Today, the house is owned by The National Park Service.Every December, the house is decorated for Christmas in the same style and tradions of Johnson’s time.
The people that live in this house go so all out for Christmas that they decorate their ENTIRE home, including the front, back & side yards, EVERY room inside, closets, hallways, kitchen, foyer, patio, swimming pool, roof, & even the garage door & driveway! There are at least 250-300 trees each decorated with a different theme &/or style! Lights upon lights upon lights upon lights! Every possible Xmas decoration you could imagine & then so many more that you hadn’t! They open their house to anyone & everyone to come inside for a free tour and they greet you in elf costumes! They do accept donations as their electric bills go through the roof during this time but they do not ever ask or hint around or even imply that you should at all. There’s a donation box located at the begining of the tour that’s it & it really doesn’t stand out much especially in comparison to the rest of the place! We’ve been going for about 3 years now & we tell anybody & everybody we can about it & where it’s at so they can go too. It really is an amazing display much more so than I can ever even describe. These people are truly beautiful people & they obviously love to spread joy to those all around them. Oh I forgot ~ they do have a very small room that has some small souvenirs you can purchase but no real big supplies of anything & a few different flavors of candy canes maybe. But that room doesn’t have any lights or props whatsoever to grab your attention like the rest of the house does. I can’t say what their motives are for doing this every year for total strangers who may or may not give a little bit for letting them come into their home but from what I’ve seen it’s not for the profit. Bless their very generous hearts!
/ in the group “Tabby Time” / Jasper loved the bell ornaments we were putting up . He stood up on his back feet to try to grab this one. He loves toys with bells in them so he hears a bell and of course it must be a toy . ... my daughter adopted him from a rescue group called ANVAR . They bring rescued pets into local pet stores and make them available for adoption. My daughter went into the pet shop for a fish and came out with little Jasper. This group is great because they make sure that their rescued pets have a reliable and safe home when they are adopted… they make sure that they will get their shots and have the best of care and to do this , those wanting to adopt fill out a 5or 6 page document and then sign it . They hold the owners accountable for making sure these things get done

Keiser quits and ChiChi pokes a raspberry. Not only a gathering of family … but a gathering of family dogs. Their patience was commendable … but eventually they were definitely “over it”. / Nikon D90 Nikon Dx 28mm – 105mm lens (with flash) Max App F/4.1 Focal length 30mm F/4.2 ISO 800 /
I have a couple more Fairy Merry Christmas cards to come :o)
It’s always fun to dress up the hallway with a few candles and red ribbons for Christmas.

Woodinville, Washington One of my most favorite places to visit any time of the year is Molbak’s Nursery in Woodinville, Washington. A good part of it is one greenhouse after another filled with every kind of plant that you could imagine. It is also the best place ever to go for holdiay items and decorations or gifts, statuary, windchimes and books as well. During the Holidays, there are decorated Christmas Trees in every theme imaginable and ornaments and all kinds of decor to suite any taste or theme.
