THE SUBJECT: / We get tourists and visitors of all sorts in my town and just when I thought I had seen everything from my seat on the old Créma Espresso Bar’s veranda over the previous three years, out of the blue this candid scene appeared before me! THE LOCATION: / They were walking along the Town Green in Port Macquarie, NSW, Australia and as it is the place where God rested on the 7th Day maybe it was just a matter of time before we had a visitor from Heaven. THE MAKING of ‘JC Comes to Town’: / A couple of friends and I had spotted this pair when they were first going the other way and we all tried to get a shot with limited success. / However, I spotted them first on their way back later on, made sure I got my shot and then said, “Look at that!” (Well you can’t give all your best shots away). / Fuji S9600: f/5 @ 1/640sec, ISO80. / Lightroom 1.1 & Photoshop CS3. UPDATE: / August 2008 / This li’l beauty has won me a Merit Certificate in the Port Macquarie Panthers Camera Club’s July 2008 Open Competition in the Large Monochrome Print Section. / AND / It was also awarded the Judge’s Award as the photograph of the month which gives me a Harvey Norman AUD$20 voucher, an 12”x18” print from Harvey Norman and it is to be hung in our sponsor’s club, Port Macquarie Panthers for the next month. One of my very first pieces…. I imagine one of the apostles seeing Jesus dying upon the cross—but in reality, I like to think it could be any of us. Peace, Claudia I made this image for a convent of Carmelite sisters that I love dearly… / I’m hoping they can use this in their gift shop.

1220mm(h) x 1520mm(w).This action painting was a collaboration / between the artist (Tracey Boulton) and fourteen members of the youth group in a local church. There are 39 lashes / applied in a ‘hands-off’ approach using various creative means and a reliance on each other to produce the gestures which symbolise the / flogging of Jesus. This work is vibrant in colour, dynamic in it’s mark making and full of passion.

My five year old grandson watched me work with Photoshop and asked if I could help him walk on water like Jesus did. This is the best I could do to meet his request. I added a verse from the Psalms to top it all off.
