  • A stunning work which shows Christian imagery. A powerful and emotive cross symbol reflected in red toned water. © Ben Herman 2005

  • A torch, a bible, a cross…....and one imporant fact. Jesus loves you.

  • Taken from my blog: I was going through some paintings in my studio and stumbled upon this one that I had done some time ago. I had initially put it aside calling it a “WIP” and had fully intended to go back and do more work on it but never did. I’d shown it as a WIP to some arteeeest friends who had liked it very much “as is” and then just rolled it up and forgot about it. It’s huge…not exactly sure off hand how large but it’s on unstretched canvas….I’d say about 4ft X 5ft. What this piece represents is (and I remember painting it during one of those dry spiritual periods when I was trying desperately to pray but just couldn’t find the words) our prayers, which are sometimes nothing more than moans and groans….but are interpreted for us by the Holy Spirit giving us a direct and uninterrupted line to our Father. This happens often during our times of spiritual emptiness when we are reaching out to God and the words just don’t come. For those of you who are Christians, you will know this scripture from the Bible: Romans 8:26 (New International Version) “In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express.” Anyway, when I pulled the painting out this morning, I decided that just as Jesus said on the cross, “it is finished”.....and would like to share it with you all. Never stop talking to God, He always hears….even the moans and groans! Be Blessed. /

  • Stormy Church – Thank you to RichieDean who helped me with the sky on this and a few other bits and pieces – You are great Richie! /

  • “And the Lord spake, saying, I shall have a son, and I shall model him in my image. His name shall be Jesus, and he shall have laser eyes.” / - Pwnesus 6: 15

  • ...or maybe not, I’ll let you decide

  • A painting of an angel on the wall at an abandoned mental asylum was perfectly placed to have a beam of light passing across it from a nearby window, giving it somewhat of a poetic feeling.

  • Canon 1Ds MKIII / 70-200mm L HDR image from 3 different exposures. Sold as Matted Print to an unknown RB buyer, thank you!

  • The Angel of the North probably one of the most photographed works of public art in the north of England if not the country as a whole. I felt it required a fresh view and as Easter was fast approaching and the word Angel being Hebrew for messenger I thought an artistic take would be to re-create the crucifixion scene for a modern day audience. This is three images combined to make this scene.

  • Crucifixion

  • Next Supper – “The last supper” – parody of clones

  • Taken in the little Church, at Church Cove, near Gunwalloe, between Helston, and Mullion, on the Lizard Peninsula, Cornwall, England. / If this looks familiar, it was the shot I used in my Christmas Card. Thank you for looking. / Hope you like it.

  • Acrylic on canvas. Just as man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment, so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many people; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him. Hebrews 9:27,28 / /

  • Abstract acrylic on canvas. Inspired by Hebrews 4:14-16 An invitation from God. We should never feel uncomfortable or find it difficult to approach God. Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has gone through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet was without sin. Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. /

  • Acrylic on stretched canvas. Please view large and if you feel so inclined, please read the entire chapter. Ephesians 1 Inspired by: Ephesians 1:13,14 And you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory. /

  • PLEASE TAKE A FEW MINUTES TO READ THIS. I am an Irish artist and missionary working with extreme poor in Africa and India. In this one camp 52 children suffer from Intestinal worm infection, and the death rate is very high. This is due to lack of clean water. The is Akuti, an Indian gypsy girl aged 11 years. Her name means ‘Princess’ and she really is a Gypsy princess. But she, like almost all of her people, the Nara_Kar-Avars (gypsy children), are treated with contempt and rejection, and denied even the basics of life. To be born a Gypsy under Hindu religion is to be born into the lowest of the lowest casts. / Known as Outcasts and treated as Untouchables, Akuti and many millions like her face a life with little hope. / She has never gone to school, as her parents barely earn enough to feed her, and cannot afford the £70-$130 per year they need for school fees, uniform and text books. My passion and mission in life is not just to pray and preach to these precious people, but to provide clothing, and the cost of school fees, medical care, and provide tools to help them earn or make a living. / The Philadelphia Mission is a small underfunded, yet effective British charity doing just that in India and Africa. We need you, my friend, to help us do much more. Become part of this mission today! Sow a seed into the life of Akuti and other children in real and terrible need. All PROCEEDS from the SALE of my ART, or DONATIONS made VIA our CHARITY WEBSITE GO to HELP EXTREME POOR and SICK in ISOLATED and RURAL VILLAGES in AFRICA and INDIA. / We TAKE NOTHING out of what YOU GIVE to the Philiadelphia Mission Charity for our Overhead or Support at all. We are NOT SALARIED and we each COVER our OWN expenses, so ALL that YOU GIVE GOES to these CHILDREN To make a donation, or find out more, Please visit our Charity Mission website* / (http://www.philadelphia33.org/) “See 4 DVD CLIPS of our work in Africa and India“:http://www.youtube.com//PhiladelphiaMission(http://www.youtube.com//PhiladelphiaMission) Camera: Canon EOS400D. • In the heaven…

  • Acrylic on canvas. For anyone who is struggling today as I am…God, help us to persevere. This is my prayer today. Hebrews 10:35-39 So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised. For in just a very little while, “He who is coming will come and will not delay. But my righteous one will live by faith. And if he shrinks back, I will not be pleased with him.” But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who believe and are saved. Hebrews Chapter 10

  • As Christians, our hearts break for those who do not know Christ as their Savior and because of this we always keep them in our prayers night and day. Phillipians 3:18,19 For, as I have often told you before and now say again even with tears, many live as enemies of the cross of Christ. Their destiny is destruction, their god is their stomach, and their glory is in their shame. Their mind is on earthly things.

  • Acrylic on canvas. Inspired by Ephesians 4 – Unity In The Body Of Christ Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of men in their deceitful scheming. Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into him who is the Head, that is, Christ. From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.

  • Textured abstract. Oil on masonite board. “In my Father’s House, there are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you.” John 14:2

  • This mixed media piece is for the “Put Christ In Christmas” challenge in the Solo Exhibition group. /
