Taken from my blog: I was going through some paintings in my studio and stumbled upon this one that I had done some time ago. I had initially put it aside calling it a “WIP” and had fully intended to go back and do more work on it but never did. I’d shown it as a WIP to some arteeeest friends who had liked it very much “as is” and then just rolled it up and forgot about it. It’s huge…not exactly sure off hand how large but it’s on unstretched canvas….I’d say about 4ft X 5ft. What this piece represents is (and I remember painting it during one of those dry spiritual periods when I was trying desperately to pray but just couldn’t find the words) our prayers, which are sometimes nothing more than moans and groans….but are interpreted for us by the Holy Spirit giving us a direct and uninterrupted line to our Father. This happens often during our times of spiritual emptiness when we are reaching out to God and the words just don’t come. For those of you who are Christians, you will know this scripture from the Bible: Romans 8:26 (New International Version) “In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express.” Anyway, when I pulled the painting out this morning, I decided that just as Jesus said on the cross, “it is finished”.....and would like to share it with you all. Never stop talking to God, He always hears….even the moans and groans! Be Blessed. /

The Angel of the North probably one of the most photographed works of public art in the north of England if not the country as a whole. I felt it required a fresh view and as Easter was fast approaching and the word Angel being Hebrew for messenger I thought an artistic take would be to re-create the crucifixion scene for a modern day audience. This is three images combined to make this scene.

In this one camp 52 children suffer from Intestinal worm infection, and the death rate is very high. This is due to lack of clean water. The is Akuti, an Indian gypsy girl aged 11 years. Her name means ‘Princess’ and she really is a Gypsy princess. But she, like almost all of her people, the Nara_Kar-Avars (gypsy children), are treated with contempt and rejection, and denied even the basics of life. To be born a Gypsy under Hindu religion is to be born into the lowest of the lowest casts. / Known as Outcasts and treated as Untouchables, Akuti and many millions like her face a life with little hope. / She has never gone to school, as her parents barely earn enough to feed her, and cannot afford the £70-$130 per year they need for school fees, uniform and text books. My passion and mission in life is not just to pray and preach to these precious people, but to provide clothing, and the cost of school fees, medical care, and provide tools to help them earn or make a living. / The Philadelphia Mission is a small underfunded, yet effective British charity doing just that in India and Africa. As Christians, our hearts break for those who do not know Christ as their Savior and because of this we always keep them in our prayers night and day. Phillipians 3:18,19 For, as I have often told you before and now say again even with tears, many live as enemies of the cross of Christ. Their destiny is destruction, their god is their stomach, and their glory is in their shame. Their mind is on earthly things.
