Taken from my blog: I was going through some paintings in my studio and stumbled upon this one that I had done some time ago. I had initially put it aside calling it a “WIP” and had fully intended to go back and do more work on it but never did. I’d shown it as a WIP to some arteeeest friends who had liked it very much “as is” and then just rolled it up and forgot about it. It’s huge…not exactly sure off hand how large but it’s on unstretched canvas….I’d say about 4ft X 5ft. What this piece represents is (and I remember painting it during one of those dry spiritual periods when I was trying desperately to pray but just couldn’t find the words) our prayers, which are sometimes nothing more than moans and groans….but are interpreted for us by the Holy Spirit giving us a direct and uninterrupted line to our Father. This happens often during our times of spiritual emptiness when we are reaching out to God and the words just don’t come. For those of you who are Christians, you will know this scripture from the Bible: Romans 8:26 (New International Version) “In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express.” Anyway, when I pulled the painting out this morning, I decided that just as Jesus said on the cross, “it is finished”.....and would like to share it with you all. Never stop talking to God, He always hears….even the moans and groans! Be Blessed. /

On the 12th day of May 2008 I witnessed (along with thousands of others) a perfect circle in the form of a rainbow around the sun at about noon-time at a beautiful place in the Philippines. Completely perplexed, stunned and amazed at this extraordinary and divine sight, I HAD to create this artwork. Im not sure where you were or what you were doing at this same moment of time but I guess this is all we have. Small pigments of time all squeezed together. And if we’re blessed enough, we get moments like these and realise even for a second the gravity of God’s love. There were no photo’s taken at the time and all I had available to me was the memory of this moment… The moment my heart burned. Print available. / Vector digital art created in illustrator.

I was working with a combination of an image I got several years ago from a newspaper story about the shroud of Turin. The original image was very poor and I had to recreate the face using the newspaper image as a model. Then I worked with I worked with Micrografx, Photoshop and Apophysis to create the finished work. I experimented a little and got several works that I really like. I hope you enjoy them. Although we do not know what Christ really looked like because the Hebrew people did not draw or paint images of anyone because it was against their religion, we do have ideas we have formed based upon legend and theories that have been passed down through time and have become a generally accepted image that comes to mind when we think of Christ. I will be posting several that are part of this series and they are all enspired by scripture from the Holy Bible. This is the second of nine in the series. What I was amazed by is the same face looks so different when using a different overlay. It is so much like the many faces of God that we have come to know. I am young and still learning, give me a chance. Let me be me. I may make mistakes and I may not always be perfect, but I try. I want so bad to please the world, but may fall short in the eyes of some. We are picked on for our imperfections and views. I am young , am I not supposed to bring fresh views and ideas to a world that has closed its mind to its on way of doing things. To a world that when it sees something it does not like or iunderstand it lashes out to try and keep us down, from growing and maturing. I am young and easily intimidated right now. I see my reflection in the water and see a beast sleeping that is waking up. I want to live without anger and the feeling of revenge. You plant the seed, from the ground springs the result. The End! PS: Art is a form of expression and a way for artist to express themselves, to bring issues to light and to share. We give it our best shot and sometimes we may fall short of others expectations. Of what, how they would have created it or took the shot, so they are now our judge and jury. I encourage all of you to create from your heart and express yourself and your views the way you want to. I see many styles of art here and they all speak to me in many ways, that is how artist grow. For the beginner out there, keep at it, ask questions, experiment and without worrying about the views of others post your work, your way, anyway, anytime, anywhere. Thank you all for your support, your words and for making this world a little better place, at least for me. May the true spirit of mankind shine one day on this whole planet as it was intended to be, maybe, just maybe, it could work out. I hope, no I pray for it. My dog River posing for a portrait in the snow. She has ALWAYS liked her picture being taken since she barely opened her eyes at two weeks of age. Her litter mates ran around when the camera aimed at them but she stood in attention every time a photo opportunity showed up! :) I’m sure she’d be glad that I donate the proceed of the sale of her photos to Nature Canada as she loves woods and her deer friends as much as I do! :) Donation to charity / 50% of the proceeds of the sale of this image will be donated to Nature Canada.

I was thinking of Julie Langford’s dear mother as I worked on this image, and I kept thinking how we all must undergo metamorphosis as we make the transition from this world where light is exterior to the next world where the interior light of our Maker can finally show through when we shed our caterpillar casing and spread our butterfly wings in the new life.
