Australia
These seaside baths are the largest in Australia and a great place for a swim. Also a great place for early morning photography. This morning the sunrise showed little promise but in the end the blues were very deep and I was suprisingly pleased with the result.
Late in the afternoon the walls of Emma Gorge were a glowing orange reflecting in the creek.
This is the shot you must take if you go to Broome… the camel train at sunset on Cable Beach. The tide was on the way out and the residual water gave great reflections. / Taken on Nikon D200 with 18-200mm Nikkor lens / Aperture F16 Speed 1/80s If you like this image why don’t you check out my calender from the Kimberley that includes this and many other photos from this amazing place. These are a collection of photos from the Kimberely in north west WA. This is a pretty remote but truly beautiful part of Australia. I hope you enjoy this.
While travelling around the Kimberley it never ceased to amaze me how tress would grow straight out of the cliff face. The contrast of the red cliff and the green tree was always striking.
One of Newcaslte icon’s – a man made swimming pool carved in the rock. This evening at dusk the waves were breaking over the edge and creating a constantly changing seascape and rockfall.
A glorious sunset over Lake Macquarie near Belmont.
Sunset on the Gold Coast – there were some nice pinks this night and the sun reflecting off one of the tallest (if not the tallest) apartment building in the southern hemisphere. A beautiful beach even if (in my opinion) spoiled by the overwhelming buildings.
Te Anau is a small town next to a large lake in Southern New Zealand. This icy sunrise was beautiful, the mist rising off the lake, snow capped mountains and a setting moon. The red boat was just in the right place for contrast. / Nikon D300, 18-200mm lens at 18mm / 1/640s F/3.5
On the west coast of the South Island of New Zealand is the Fox Glacier. Lake Matheson is a glacial lake where on a still day there are mirror perfect relfections of Mount Cook and Mount Tasman as well as the glacier. Mount Cook (the highest in New Zealand is furthest right and Mount Tasman closer to the left).
A clear day on the west coast of NZ. The view of Fox Glacier turned pink as the sun set behind us and the clouds cleared just in time!
Not far from Queenstown in New Zealand’s south island is the town of Wanaka. This morning was still and the reflections as the cloud slowly rose were wondeful.
I just loved the vivid colour of dragon fruit especially when they were all stacked together as here – they taste pretty good too and were a staple of my time in Vietnam.
I love taking photos of nature’s vibrant colours. This calender is a celebration of colour with a selection of my photographs that show the contrasts and spectrum of colour in nature.
Anywhere we went in Vietnam each shop would sell something different be it shoes, tin, glass, or lanterns. Of course the lantern shops were the one of the most colourful to photograph! You could even sit down and make your own.
