The Chosen One
by buckboyyThey said to return, that it wasn’t time to depart, / for I am the chosen one to save the family’s heart.
While feeling my worst during the recovery from my illness and injury, I had a seizure on the bathroom floor. I was unconscious for quite some time, but after I woke up I remember floating above my body looking down at myself. Over a year prior to that night, my aunt and grandmother had passed away within just over a month of each other. Apparently I spoke with them and they told me it was up to me to take care of everyone left in the family. I really don’t remember if it was a dream or a real out of body experience. In any case, it left a powerful impression. My health has slowly been getting better ever since that occurence, where no other treatment seem to do much. The poem was really the only way I could express the experience.
