A photo of St-Simeon’s pier, the most beautiful place I saw when I went for my little 3 days trip.While taking this shot ,a nice couple on a moto talked to me ,I ask for a little auberge to sleep for the night and they decided to invite me to their home.That’s Quebec,I would have done the same but it was a first for me…couldn’t believe it.I sent some photos by email and they were very happy.They are living at five minutes from there in a beautiful place called La Malbaie near the St-Lawrence river.The same day in the afternoon I took «Pointe-au-Père» and in the evening the sky became lavander blue,a real dream. / / /

We all must choose our paths. I choose one filled with love and beauty. This is the boardwalk at Magee Marsh, near Lake Erie in Ohio.

My inspiration for this shot was this. It was late afternoon and the sun was shining through the leaves of my mountain ash tree at the other end of my backyard. Most of this part of the garden was in shadow except for this one bright daisy that seemed to have the spotlight from a ray of sun through the leaves right on it as if it was chosen for something special. I had to capture this moment. A good lesson on procrastination. Each moment is special and once gone cannot be recaptured. Don’t wait…..do it now.

Glance to the window and then back and then to the sky and then to the walls waiting for words to let go and move. Holding fast inside a dream and always wanting to escape and then to run home and then to move and then to settle in. I remain in one spot for a second and see, if not enjoy, the view. / Hard walls, melting into dark sun streaks left for the heated concrete. Rusted foliage and stale clouds. And inside are crowds. Outside are faces. Everywhere are windows, ruins of the future rising into cold fortresses. / I see through the surface to the stars. The wonder of the light. / I realize I am right where I am suppose to be. Someone told me that long ago. I didn’t like it. Now they are gone. I remember. This can’t be a prison if it is chosen. It is all a playground. Forever changing. Walls only crumbling reflections from and into my own mind’s eye. / Another eyesight sees beyond. Or tries to. / Yet for now, this is a chosen place. Not a lesson, but a heaven. Not a restraint, but a dance. Not an end, but a beginning. Not a wall, but a mirror. This a Chosen Place is 24”x36” acrylic and India ink on canvas. July 2009
