You are invited to come drink, eat , meet all the artists….including myselt on the 18th November from 6pm to 8pm. Its going to be a fun night…all the students from Visual Arts, Illustration , Multimedia and Arts Therapy courses will be there, showing their art and partying it up for the big end of year show. You can also come and buy some of the art, I will be in the print room selling my prints along with the other printmakers. There will be paintings and drawings for sale as well as sculpture. There will be presentations, awards and hopefully lots and lots of arty people having a good time. Meet the teachers and students. Come and meet me, I would love to meet you on the night. We at the Chisholm Institute are proud of our work and proud of our school and would love for you to come and hang out and have a few drinks and walk around checking out our art. Please come. Hi printmaking buddies. Last night at Chisolms End of year open night party I won the award for printmaking. (Big hug to Heather Nye my printmaking teacher) . Now I have a voucher to go to Neil Wallace and buy ink for my studio. I am so wrapt about that because I wanted to do drypoint etchings at home and havn’t the ink. Plus I felt special last night and , well its great to feel rewarded. Last night was a great party for all but I know who had the best time ever and that was ME ME ME. I had a wonderful time.

Here are a few of my works hanging in the Chisholm Frankston Visual Arts end of year show. My diploma came in the mail this week as I close another chapter of my life. Its been the best four years of my life. I can say that, because I have two beautiful children, one gorgeous american husband, three cats, three lovely doggies, a business, wonderful friends, a house I own and call home. I have the good fortune to live in Australia and I live near the beach. I mean, I have all these things, I have a studio, I have a printing press, THEN, I had the good fortune to be a student at TAFE and complete a diploma for the first time in my life. Next I go and begin a Certificate in Workplace and Training Assessment that will hopefully take me and my art in another direction. Perhaps, I will go back into the work force with skills and confidence I never knew I had before. Its with this all in mind I say a huge thank you to the teachers at Chisholm. I know every year the government makes more and more cut backs to the art departement. I am so grateful I was able to complete this course before they make it even harder for mature age students like myself to find their artistic true selfs. Thank you to Heather Nye (printmaking teacher + MENTOR), Jon Hatfield (sculpture and painting teacher), Philip Faulks (painting, drawing and theory teacher + an understanding and compassionate man, I will miss you. ), Bill Hayes (printmaking, painting and Arts history teacher +), David Salter (Arts business Practice and enternal words of wisdom), Nathan (for being so sweet, and teaching me Photoshop, its been such an important tool, oh and for understanding me so well),Michelle Kemp, Frannie, Amanda, Robyn (administration), Graham (the man!), the librarians (who were always so helpful), the canteen ladies (who were always so cheerful, God bless them), the Book shop ladies, (breaktime chats and friendly faces), to all the other students who encouraged me over the years and whom made my experience at Chisholm a wonderful one. Ok, going to cry now. Time to move on. Good-bye to TAFE and thank you. Thank you so much. BillyLee
