As a once psychology major, I was intrigued by Freud’s theory on the id and ego of the human psyche. It has been many years since those classes so my words may be somewhat off. But this piece is a self representation (aren’t they all?) of myself and how the “id” and “ego” play in our life decisions. We all seek pleasure and that constant feeling of euphoria, and our “id”’s only goal is to achieve those feelings without worry or care about the consequences of such actions. It is our “ego” that keeps the “id” in line, allowing us to think before we act, and to be able to foresee what may come of this pleasure seeking. It is a constant battle that wages on beneath our skin and sometimes the “id” overcomes. Some choose to live only by the “id”s bidding and never realize the destruction they leave behind when seeking their pleasures. I have been through that lifestyle once, and as much as I enjoyed such pleasures in bountiful amounts….the aftershock of those actions can still be felt today.

my first try at chinese ink painting :) (though done on crappy printer paper instead of nice rice paper) I bought brushes/inkstones/personal stamp when i was on holiday in China :) it’s really fun! / the two characters are ‘bamboo’ and ‘love’ and they are really stuffed up! way too elongated and weird ;_; but you can’t erase ink >> / just don’t show it to anyone who can read chinese and it’s fine :D and yes i’m aware of how messy it is lol

My dog River posing for a portrait in the snow. She has ALWAYS liked her picture being taken since she barely opened her eyes at two weeks of age. Her litter mates ran around when the camera aimed at them but she stood in attention every time a photo opportunity showed up! :) I’m sure she’d be glad that I donate the proceed of the sale of her photos to Nature Canada as she loves woods and her deer friends as much as I do! :) Donation to charity / 50% of the proceeds of the sale of this image will be donated to Nature Canada.

This is Udon, my 7 month old male chow chow dog. This is his favourite spot for resting whenever he’s at my boyfriend’s place. He has been getting numerous ear parasites attacks lately so we brought him to the vet for 3 consecutive shots, the last one was this morning,just before I flew back to Singapore. I sure miss him, it’ll be another 5 days before I see him again. /

This piece is based on how much we base our decisions off of love. Not condemning it, but rather it intrigues me what those will do in the name of love. Many people have died for love, have fought for love, and have sacrificed for love. It’s a powerful feeling that enslaves us, causing us to react in ways we may not deem normal in a clear state of mind, but like they say, Love is intoxicating. 2nd traditional piece I’ve ever attempted with acrylics. It was (key word, was, because it was sold lol)a 18×24 inch stretched canvas with acrylics and india ink. I miss this piece dearly, but at least I have a wonderful jpeg of it’s remains.

This is the original Chinese character for love -爱, which was made 4000 years ago….carved on turtle shells or bronze untensils. It is a multi-dimentional drawing, a kind of Picasso, i think. You can figure out if you look carefully. It is how love was made by then….still the same actually :) What have you seen in this …..? / The top, the middle, left bottom conner:))) Very funny, there is an official explaination, it says the character Love was made by ” hands”casting ” fishing net” to catch the fish; since the first usage of this character was to form up a word ” fish love ”. But i can’t see there are hands and fishing net in this pictography but others :))) / Why ” love ” is connected with ” fish”?I think i know..they are so much related :) if you are an adult you know . Im not going to debate with any archeologist; I just believe my eyes, my sense and brain. For science we shall not be that much shy :)) What more I saw from this piece is how artistically advanced my ancestors were !! They were wonderful! / / / / / / / / /

Back in the deep summer, when all were in blossom and the leaves were rich in color and taste, the doe had plenty of time to experience the “other things” in life than just search for food. One day she decided to figure out what creature it was that I carried around with me and pushed at the top of the “head” from time to time to make a sound. She came so close to the lens that I had to quickly change to a wide-angle one in order to take this photo.
