Suzaku is the red phoenix from Chinese mythology. The myth of Suzaku and the other four Saint Beasts were later on incorporated into the mythology of Japan and other Asian nations. The four beasts: Suzaka, a scarlet phoenix Byako, a white tiger Genbu, a tortoise/snake cross (probably a plesiosaur?) Seiryu, a blue dragon The four beasts are popular in anime, making cameos in “Fushigi Yuugi,” “Yuu Yuu Hakusho,” “Harukanaru Toki no Naka de” and several other series.

What is it about Oriental tranquility that makes this section so peaceful and attractive? Soon, the crepe myrtles will come into bloom, adding yet another dimension to this area.
