  • The view from a Guard Tower on the Great Wall, China.

  • Taken on a section of the Great Wall of China between Jinshanling and Simatai. In the distance you can see the wall rising steeply up over the mountains at Simatai. This got accepted into the ADPA competition in 2007.

  • This shot was taken with me practically alone on the Great Wall. Beijing had just seen it’s first dusting of snow, the light was magical and there was a wonderful feeling of isolation.

  • Those are some of my collection of front doors from different countries.

  • Taken at the Summer Palace in Beijing. More travel shots like this in: / My Adventures /

  • Enjoy!! _

  • part of a wall in the city. / It got some great old treeplants growing alongside of it. / A red skull-graphitti was sprayed on it. Not a great sight but If you cut out some parts you get a “chinese miniature”

  • / “Now available as a LARGE print” Sales of this Design? – 3 sales so far :) / / Girl on Red Wall is from the ‘Asia Series’ of cards by Karin Taylor Girl on Red Wall is a mixed media production on canvas textured paper utilising ink, pastel, charcoal and acrylic in the rendering. It was a fun piece that has been popular, the original has already been sold to a doctor in Queensland, and prints requested overseas. It’s funny, the paintings you don’t think will be popular, are the ones that receive the most interest sometimes. I have grown to love Girl on Red Wall very much, and would now like to share her with you

  • Driving along today I spotted this container, so had to go back home and get my camera! I have no idea what the chinese words say, but I can hazard a guess. I was drawn in by the clean strong lines created by the late afternoon sun contrasting with the grungy rusty bits down below. More in this series: /

  • Oil Painting…I painted this quite a few years ago (maybe 1995-1996). It is based on a detail from a famous painting but unfortunately I cannot remember what the name of the painting was or who the original artist was. My version of this painting was painted on 16”x12” canvas board. I’ve decided to name it ‘Ode to an Urn’ as it reminds me of my favourite poem. Ode on a Grecian Urn by John Keats / I also love one of his other ‘Odes’ Ode to a Nightingale ...if I could only find myself a nightingale. LOL! • www.galleriamancuso.com / blog / 2010 calendars This image just sort of evolved on its own. I’m not sure where I was going with it when I started but this is what I ended up with. There are three images, the main (silhouette) was actually taken on the Great Wall of China but it could be anywhere. Nikon D80, 1/125, f/5.3

  • / Get the TShirt Tears from Heaven / / The Peacock Empress is a drawing created a couple of days ago, while at the surgery with my daughter, i had a vision of it which impressed strongly in my mind, and i was able to draw it once I got home. The idea was the Empress was rising up over the waters. There’s lots of symbolism in this, but it’s purely for my own benefit and the viewer may decide how the symbolism relates to them…the colour has been done in Photoshop. She has almost taken on the look of an oriental style “Luna Park” entrance at twilight, might be a nice design for those who celebrate “Chinese New Year” and/or collectors of asian inspired/related art
