This is a print of the original piece entitled “I will wait for you here” / It was hand drawn with ink and digitally altered with color and texture. The background is old fabric that was scanned and copied into the print. I absolutely adore this piece. It shoots me right back to fifth grade when my best friend had her dad build us a swing in the woods. I used to swing for hours looking up at the birds…and wait. Im not sure what I was waiting for back then…but it didnt matter, I was happiest there. Taken in Tunga/Zuga Village .remote Nigeria. Rebecca is 13 years old and is orphaned. Her Grandmother was looking after her, but she now is dead also. Rebecca rarely speaks but loves to sing songs she learned from passing missionaries. She works in her grandmothers small garden. Her Grandmothers house is almost falling down. The villagers are very loving toward her, but Food is scare here. Please pray and help us to help children like Rebecca. Alfred is a young boy who has and does inspire me to raise awareness and raise funds and tools to help these extreme poor in Africa. We do this through Philadelphia Mission a British Registered Charity. [Reg No: 1049410]. / My great Passion in life is to bless others who are extremely poor, sick and disabled in Rural and Isolated villages in Africa. Alfred was found in Tunga/Zuga village by one of our Evangelist Staff members. He was very ill and had his leg amputated to save his life. He was taken by our staff member and cared for. Now he is in good health and at school. A boy who loves God and life. We can and do make a difference friends. This is Grace and she lives in Tunga/Zuga Village, deep in remote Nigeria. In December 2007, I uploaded Her Photographs and since then many people in Redbubble have been touched by her Beauty and illness. Through the kindness of some here on redbubble, We were able to purchase medicines to save her life. grace was dying from intestinal worms. This is because the village has no clean water. I spoke to our Volunteer worker today who is staying in the village, and he has informed me that Grace is now making a great recovery. Praise God. There are many Like Grace who die each year in agony. We are making a difference. Please pray and help us reach many more like grace. We need your gifts. It many be money, Skills, Talent, Prayer or simply sharing our work with others. Wanted to depict the earth being used up and our children’s children being left with a speck to live upon. For the technical part, I used 7 textures and 2 photos. One being the little girl < Kolleen > and the other is a cut out from my lake adventure. I used a radial blur on 2 of the layers for the flying in space effect. Burned a bit more shadow around the child to make her blend better. used the smudge tool around the edges for effect. All Work was done in CS3. / Thank you for looking! Here is a close-up
