Yesterday, the weather was so beautiful. My children and I spent the day outside playing. I love those photo ops where I can capture them appreciating the simple things in life. I thought this was a great image for selective coloring. Please also check out my selective coloring website at: www.selectivecolors.com

After finishing my Lolita Tako-Chan I realized I had a perfectly good dress design I was going to do nothing with…so I decided to make another porcelain doll. Also I wanted to define the term for those that didn’t know. :3 Lolita (ロリータ・ファッション, ? roriita fasshon) is a fashion subculture in Japan that is primarily influenced by Victorian children’s clothing as well as costumes from the Rococo period. Lolita has made this into a unique fashion by adding gothic and original design elements to the look. From this, Lolita fashion has evolved into several different sub styles and has created a devoted subculture in Japan. The Lolita look consists primarily of a knee length skirt or dress, headdress, blouse, petticoat, knee length socks or stockings and rocking horse or high heel/platform shoes. Magnets: /

Featured in: / Selective colouring group Lyrics: Fly – Hillary Duff / In a moment, everything can change, / Feel the wind on your shoulder, / For a minute, all the world can wait, / Let go of your yesterday. Can you hear it calling? / Can you feel it in your soul? / Can you trust this longing? / And take control, Fly / Open up the part of you that wants to hide away / You can shine, / Forget about the reasons why you can’t in life, / And start to try, cause it’s your time, / Time to fly. All your worries, leave them somewhere else, / Find a dream you can follow, / Reach for something, when there’s nothing left, / And the world’s feeling hollow. Can you hear it calling? / Can you feel it in your soul? / Can you trust this longing? / And take control, Fly / Open up the part of you that wants to hide away / You can shine, / Forget about the reasons why you can’t in life, / And start to try, cause it’s your time, / Time to fly. And when you’re down and feel alone, / Just want to run away, / Trust yourself and don’t give up, / You know you better than anyone else, In a moment, everything can change, / Feel the wind on your shoulder, / For a minute, all the world can wait, / Let go of yesterday, Fly / Open up the part of you that wants to hide away / You can shine, / Forget about the reasons why you can’t in life, / And start to try, / Fly / Forget about the reasons why you can’t in life, / And start to try, cause it’s your time, / Time to fly. In a moment, everything can change.
Yesterday, the weather finally broke and was soooo nice outside (although it is cold again today…), so the kids got the chance to play outside after a long winter being pent up indoors. My daughters decided it was great fun to bounce up and down on this tree branch. Although I was nervous they would poke themselves with the twigs and kept warning them about it, I couldn’t resist watching them play and the look of exhilaration on their face … just enjoying something as simple as this. The quote is: Happiness is opening yourself up to all the little miracles life has to offer. / Happiness is taking a break from your routine and getting lost in the moment. / Happiness is looking at the world through the eyes of a child. / Happiness is a choice… yours to define. / Take this moment and / Have A Blast.
