  • One of 26 images for a new manuscript for a children’s picture book…… this is a combination of photography, vector, drawings and a special recipe for the overall effect. I wanted to stay with the shadows because I love the challenge of allowing little ones to use their imagination to visualize the character they want to see. I started this manuscript with my youngest as my inspiration, she loves cupcakes. I had a blast writing the Lilliput picture book and my kids really enjoyed it. I am really proud of all the hard work and how it turned out and I cannot wait until it finds a home at a house. Until then I want to keep writing and make up the illustrations. I love the challenge and the expression on my kids faces with the images that I turn out. btw…. / The cupcake is actually a first attempt over a year ago to design vector art. I never deleted it, thank goodness :).

  • On a very rainy day, in a very rainy city… Sir Cricket von Marionette decided to have his portrait taken. You see, Sir Cricket had a ladyfriend whom he bestowed the utmost admiration upon. One could even say he prized her esteemed company beyond all other crickets in that drizzly town. Perhaps even in the entire land, though Sir Cricket von Marionette was not one to go galavanting too far beyond the streets of his beloved home. *NOTICE** / To read the story in it’s entirety… please click here

  • Here is Kaylie at the party again. I took this candid photo of her form a distance, as I saw her just snapping away. She does a really good job too!! She is almost 5 years old. I love this pic because of her pose and her eye just looks amazing! I just love how she holds the camera!

  • One of several images for my second picture book…..the story is comical and engages children to participate…which is something that was really important to me when i wrote this book…I wanted kids to get excited and shout out when they new the part….. I just finished the manuscript for this book a few days ago….phew :) I started this book in January….inspiration was from my “The mice and the cupcake” ....my youngest was iffy of the shadow mice so I started sketching mice and try my hand at illustrator (still learning :) ) ......I have 6 images so far …i am aiming for 26…..still not sure if I am 100% happy with the mice…I am going for not to much detail…interesting to look at….but simple…tons of texture and color….in this image there are photographs and illustrations created in illustrator and sketches worked through photoshop…...over 100 layers close to 800meg…. / btw….Lilliput is still in New york…..I try not to think to much about it…i have no nails left :)...i am hoping that soon i will hear something….

  • While i stepped away from working on the mice images I had to revist my little girl, with a bit more edge :) . Working on the two characters was very repetitive which helps me absorb what i am doing in illustrator. Still working my way through, won’t give up :) Oksana has also been a big help to me, without her help on my mice images i would be stuck for quite sometime :)

  • Just finished working on this image and I could not wait to upload and share ….this is another image from my second children’s picture book….I am really learing a lot not just about writing but also about character development….i love it :)....still working my way through illustrator but not as frustrated as when i had started…...

  • \ / My idea of a holy picture, like the ones we used to have when we were little with a contemporary feel to it. St Agnes of Rome (c. 291 – c.304 virgin–martyr) is often depicted carrying a little lamb. She is the patron saint of chastity, gardeners, girls, engaged couples, rape victims, and virgins. Read more about her here in Wikepedia and more in my recent journal here the poem The Eve of St Agnes by John Keats (thanx to izzybeth for reminding me of it to include here)
