Even at two years old, Lucy knows how to go for the kill. Of course, it doesn’t look like her little brother minds too much either. In a few years, we’re going to have to start keeping an eye on these two. At least we know they love each other.

On a very rainy day, in a very rainy city… Sir Cricket von Marionette decided to have his portrait taken. You see, Sir Cricket had a ladyfriend whom he bestowed the utmost admiration upon. One could even say he prized her esteemed company beyond all other crickets in that drizzly town. Perhaps even in the entire land, though Sir Cricket von Marionette was not one to go galavanting too far beyond the streets of his beloved home. *NOTICE** / To read the story in it’s entirety… please click here

Sydney light festival, a moment of great timing, and the curiosity of a child. One of my favorite photos of all time! The vibrancy of the colours and freedom of the photo just make it so fun!
A day that forever we will cherish / before their childhood does perish With glowing gossamer wings / to hear as enchanted life sings As fairies within petals of a rose / another costume change to pose Swinging on colored flowering vines / upon Gramma’s lap ~ smiles shine In a sepia garden cousins kiss / moments captured in relative bliss A gift of remembrance and youth / captured through the lens of truth Time has changed them greatly since / and distance of miles won’t be convinced Kissin’ Cousins were captured this day / in Gramma’s heart and on her walls always. TK Rosevear 9/5/09 While speaking on the phone with my granddaughter tonight, she urged me to get this piece up for the Art and Stories for Children challenge/Tribute to Children, as we reminisced about our photo shoot for my 42nd Birthday. The girls, my granddaughters, Lexi and Lauren, were dressed up as fairies in a toadstool garden, inset to the inside of a rose, then changed into these country dresses & bonnets to swing on a swing and set within this sepia garden. We were photographed together, each seperately and them as a pair for several hours of shooting. We had a wonderful day, and these memories are plastered throughout our cabin walls to remind me of a most beautiful gift. Didn’t think the Elvis song would be appropriate, so chose Lexi’s favorite singer, Faith Hill singing Fireflies
Digital fine art photo painting of a little country girl admiring the beauty of a single bloom in a wildflower field. Featured in Digital Brushstrokes, October 9, 2009. This digital art consists of 4 layered images from my personal library, including one texture layer. The little girl’s hair was created from scratch and then the entire piece was digitally painted in Corel Painter X using a Wacom tablet prior to adding additional texture & a subtle posterizing filter in Photoshop. Yesterday we went fishing, all eleven of us and some friends. At one stage I asked Johnny (11) to carry Reilly (10 months) back to where we were picnicing. This is so typical of how Johnny carries Reilly most of the time, and Reilly just loves it. Can’t think why. ( : Anyway, I’m just glad to have captured this moment, their relationship continuously delights me. Ahh summer has arrived early for some of us this year. After a day at the beach last weekend, I was able to get that good old feeling back that only summer can bring! These kids were playing around at the beach, and I couldn’t help but be reminded of a time in life when going to the beach, making a sand castle, digging a hole to fill when tide comes in, finding something living a rock and burying someone in sand were the best things you could ever do. Life’s simple pleasures. I live for a sunny day. Taken at Port Melbourne Beach Original shot layered once and a free use texture from www.deviantart.com – tagger stock layered on top, with a slight adjustment of RGB. Finally, omni lighting effect applied. Canon 50D / 18 – 55, 58mm / f11, 1/250, ISO 100 MCN: CC3BP-T4CDV-S575Y More Textured work:
