A street photo taken at Changi Airport, Singapore. Using the natural light as backlighting, these people were quickly snapped in silhouetted as they were walking away. I’m surprised how similar these people are. They echoed each other in terms of being in a pair. Also, the pairs in the foreground are single dad with their only child. All this captured at the time 16:57.

I originally intended this shot to be a picture of my son holding onto these balloons and taking off, floating into up into the sky … a fantasy, sotybook sort of image. However, my daughter immediately grabbed these balloons from him and started running off. So, as it turned out this eded up having a more realistic look than the one I originally intended, but I thought it turned out pretty cute with the desaturated colors throughout, except for the colorful balloons. Sold 2 laminated prints to RB Members.

A Parents Prayer for their sick child. / (2 Samuel 12:22) David answered: While he was still alive, I went without food and cried because there was still hope. I said to myself, “Who knows? Maybe the LORD will have pity on me and let the child live.” I am an Irish born Missionary living in London I spend much time living with the Kambari tribe, I get to know first hand the challenges they face each day just to survive. I also have the privilege of capturing not only hunger, sickness and often death, but the more happy occasions. This is Grace, and when I first met Grace in April 2007, she was suffering from Chronic Malnutrition, adn intestinal worm infection. This was taken in December 2007, and the difference in 2009 is wonderful. Thank you to all who prayed and donated towards saving Grace. Please do Pray for these precious suffering people in extreme poverty and for us as we press on in our mission to help them. I believe in the power of Prayer and a mighty God. Hope
by Wendy SleeHOPE / Hope still walks beside me on the road / Her gentle company eases the miles / And lightens the load a little. / On days of unwashed clothes and unkempt hair / She sometimes seems a little unprepared, / Yet mismatched shoes can still skip / And callused hands can still warm to the touch / Of love’s tender potential. / Some days her mind seems elsewhere / But when our eyes meet, / She is quick to smile, / And through her windows / The light burns brightly / For anyone who cares to share. / Hope is never pretty / But always beautiful, / She is a silhouette in an open doorway, / A soft touch as sleep dissolves / A memory that lingers in the folds of your heart. / She is the exhale of a sigh, / The softening of shoulders / To imagined caress, / The trickle of water at the source / Of a mighty river. / Hope never looks in the mirror, / Indeed, she looks beyond, / For she holds her own reflection / In a place I have yet to find. / Sometimes weary, / She falls behind, / Engulfed in the shadows of the past; / Sits down to rest in the settling dust. / A time-worn traveller, she fades from my view / As I continue on unaware. / Somewhere in the chill / I miss her hand in mine / And sit down by the roadside to wait. / In the stillness, / The road continues to pass me by / Regardless, / And if I close my eyes I can be / Wherever I wish to go and whomever / I choose to be, / Yet somehow the one I open my eyes to / Is me. / In these fragile precious moments / When quiet enters me and wraps my soul / In the solace of silence / And the road has lost its urgency, / I look up to find her standing there. / We hug / Old friends, / The holding hands, continue on our way. / Some days Hope takes her own path, / But most days, she still walks beside me. / She lives in me / And I live in Hope…

/>I am a missionary born in Northern Ireland and living in London for the past 23 years. This photograph of Angelena was taken while at a Church service in, Nigeria. This was the first time i met her. She was sitting at the back of the church against the wall on a seat all alone. I used full zoom and took over 50 photographs of her. This is the only one that came out good. this was not a planned pose and I caught her like this without her knowing. she was quite a distance from me. I was sitting on the platform waiting to be called to speak. This young Girl inspired me so much. Her young life is an inspiration to me of how faith and hope can carry us through difficult times. Angelina is 12 years old . She is one of the children we have been caring for for the past three years. When we found her three years ago she was close to death and without Parents. Three years later she is loved and attends school. We can and do make a difference to children in extreme poverty and sick. All it takes is Love and a heart of compassion to sow a little time and money into a child’s life and you will see the transformation. Angelina was dying from malaria when we first saw her. Now she lives a full life. She says she wants to be a doctor and help others who are sick. God bless her and all who helped us in helping her. 100% of all proceeds from sales of my art ,donated art, and donations made via Philadelphia Mission Charity website, goes to help extreme poor in Isolated and Rural villages in Africa. PLEASE READ THIS DESCRIPTION. [AS IS} / I am a missionary, born in Northern Ireland and living in London. my passion in life is to help the poor in rural and isolated villages in Africa and India. Abhijeet in Hindu language means “one who is victorious, a star”. She certainly lives up to her name. 3 years old and already has faced abuse, and hunger. She was close to death and in much pain. Abijeet is one child we rescued through The INDIAN NEW LIFE MISSION, based in India. Her smile melted my heart and as I was told her story I could not help give God thanks for the few Indian Christians that reached out to her. With little money, they took her into the Orphanage, where now she is cared for. I now have sponsored Abijeet and for only £10 per month, she is fed, clothed and will attend a full education when she is old enough. I do not get financial funding from any Church, My own income is little. But I made my mind up a long time ago to share what God has blessed me with with the poor. I have not gone hungry, nor my family. I rent my home, and drive a car. My children are all educated and blessed by God. I have lacked nothing,because blesses the sower. Gods burning Love and Passion for the outcast and poor burns deep within my heart, and hopefully can be seen throgh my life and camera lens. Abijeet is a shining star and a true testimony of what Love and sharing can do. Please Pray for me, that I can bless many more suffering children like Abijeet. To have a good friend, take their hand… and walk on the beach. This is a story.. of best friends who happend to marry best friends who both have two year olds. The girl is my daughter Summer and her best of friends Matthew. Thank you Larissa for calling this to my attention. I have been away on vacation with limited internet access so I will be catching up soon. I just couldnt resist this shot as I was mulling through my picts of the week spent with friends and family.
