Thank you so much to all my fellow bubblers’ well wishes with regards to my joint exhibition show :D I’m most happy to update you with the news that The Dreamer was sold yesterday to a Belgian(they are called Belgians right?) customer! I was down at the show yesterday….just to see how things were and of cos I dont deny the fact that I hope to meet someone who will love my work enough to buy….so I went around looking at others’ works…then I came to my own…and I saw 3 men looking at my owls :D So I mustered enough courage to introduce myself as the one behind the owls…so to cut the whole story short, one of the men said his mum is a super fervent owl lover and he’s looking for a birthday present for his mum! I couldnt believe my ears and my heart was just leaping with joy! So now The Dreamer is going to reside in some part of Belgium and in the loving hands of a fellow owl lover! :D I brought my cam along and wanted to take a shot with this customer…and guess what..no SD card inside, I left it in the laptop, so no pics to show here today. He did get his friend to take a pic of us so I really hope he remembers to email me :D The painting looks exactly like the framed print above…black frame with black board within :D Happy happy! Yes! It was a day of triple thrills when I discovered I sold 3 of my zazzle calendars to a fellow zazzler :D Days like these are rare, so I was super thrilled. They are my first calendar sales, happy to have made some sales before 2008 comes to a close:D This is a collection of Ophelia portraits using pastels-acrylic on paper and wood :D This consists my acrylic paintings of Ophelia, Phoebe and Mel, a calendar that celebrates life and friendship :D This is also Ophelia :D She’s a finger puppet toy, less than 4 inches tall. After the busy weekend this week also are running away with me….! So now I will stop to give you a quick recap… We arrived at the Game farm on Friday afternoon, get the kids to settle in and started their weekend with just one rule: ‘It’s against the rules to make it unpleasant for others’ / so everybody can enjoy the ‘camp’. We slept in Bungalows – thatched roofs. It was sunny all weekend! We make kites, played ‘boere’ sports and went down to the dam to through mud at each other, came back and ‘paste’ the teachers….those who didn’t hide out in their bungalows….like me… went for a swim and then had a barbeque. The kids still wanted to have a concert so we let them. They really enjoyed it! / We didn’t get a lot of sleep…! Children chatting, running around knocking on doors and girls wanting to go to the bathroom in the early hours of the morning…! / They all agreed WE HAD FUN!!!

As you may have noticed, I have not been around much. Please, tell me you noticed? I’ll cry,otherwise! Anyway …. For those of you who do not know, my daughter was having problems with her husband. So, she decided to take her daughter and go and visit her father for a while, think over the marriage and give him time to do the same. He insisted that she leave their daughter with him, because he said he was afraid that she wouldn’t come back, otherwise. So, that’s what she did. Shortly after she left, he got arrested. His mother had the baby at that point. Which was alright, ostensibly, since Morgan gave her $200, actually a little more, to help take care of said baby. They were all living together. Her mother-in-law then tricked her son into signing away his rights to his daughter (told him it was temporary, but the papers say permanent guardianship), called my daughter and tried to force her to agree to do the same – and when she refused to sign any such papers, threatened her with CPS waiting at the house to have her arrested and told her she is not allowed to come back to Arizona until she is 18. Well, this delayed my daughter in returning, as some research needed to be done, regarding if CPS, indeed, was doing any such thing. They were not. She came home and tried to get her daughter. The first time we went to the trailer, the Sheriff’s deputy told us that the m-in-l already had full legal custody of the baby. that she had papers signed by a judge. So, we looked up the records online and saw that there were guardianship papers filed, of some sort. Took us a while to prepare a response, go to the courthouse, and there we found out she had lied off her ass to the Sheriff’s Deputy. She had no right to refuse to let my daughter have her child, at that point – and she wouldn’t even let her see her daughter! We asked! Anyway, to make a long story short, despite the fact that all my daughter did was pay someone who lived in the house, and who was family, to help the father of the child watch her, and went to visit her dad, CPS has taken custody of her daughter, due to the allegations that she has abused and abandoned her daughter. They are taking the word of a woman who was arrested for custodial interference before, when she tried to steal another granddaughter from a different son. They are also misquoting a report I made that was about that woman and her sons, and my fears for my granddaughter and my daughter, and saying, in court, that I am the one that made a report that my daughter abused her daughter. So, at this point, if my daughter does not find a suitable home, a job, attend parenting classes, and a whole lot else, within 6 months, and that includes participating in visitation with her daughter, all parental rights will be severed. Pretty harsh penalty for visiting your dad, huh? Well, CPS is supposed to be referring her to services. They were told that she lives in Tucson – that her name was still on the lease to the address that the m-i-l lives at. Despite that, they opened the investigation out here, not in there. Then, when we tried to tell them about the m-i-l and her past history, they said “We are not here to discuss her, we are here to discuss you” to my daughter. So, the m-i-l told them things about my daughter, but, they are not willing to listen to WHY she is acting that way – even though she was arrested for trying to steal a grandchild before, even though she stole her children from their fathers (who had legal custody) before, even though there is no discernible record of her children going to school, and even though she is on SSD for something and yet she can MOVE, so it must be mental. They don’t care – they don’t want to hear it. They want to give this mentally ill, child abusing woman, her granddaughter to adopt. My daughter now has more like 4 months to get things done. They have not referred her to anything. In fact, the other day they called and told us they were trying to get a hold of us – despite the fact that they had two phone numbers and physical addresses by which to do so, and someone was home at both of them, the entire time! – and now that they finally did, they needed an address in Tucson, so the case could get transferred to Tucson. I gave them my sister’s address and phone number, again. They told me they already had it, though they lied and said we gave them the wrong space number before. My sister is the one that told me they are lying about it, because they called her to verify it, the FIRST time it was given to them. In other words, they are purposely dicking around, because my daughter is the one who has the 6 month time limit, not them. If she gets nothing done, she loses her baby, even if it is their fault because they never referred her to services when they know she hasn’t the money to pay for them. So, there you have it. I’ve been busy trying to find agencies that will help a 17 year old get parenting classes, rental assistance, counseling, etc. without any money. I may have finally gotten a few leads of places that will help. I need to check into them later this morning (it is 3:27 am right now). My parents are buying a 4-plex, if they can get it, so that my daughter can have that home CPS demands. That is, it won’t all be for her, but, it is cheaper to make a house payment than to make rent, and, besides, apartment managers do not rent to 17 year olds, despite their having been emancipated by marriage. So, for her to have a home, there is very little option, otherwise. If they get it, I’ll be moving in to the 4-plex, too, and probably, so will my sister. If they don’t get it, we’ll try for the duplex that has the single family rental behind it. I would prefer the 4-plex in that it is conveniently located, i think. However, I would prefer the duplex in that I would not have to live in the same apartment as my sister. Mind you, I love her, but, I do not want to live in the same apartment with her, if I can help it. As she, herself, said: I would like to live near family, but, not with them! Lately, we have been cleaning the pieces out of the house, because an appraiser needs to come and look at it and decide if it would make good collateral. It’s all been a big ball of crazy, brought on by another liar who wants someone else’s children; much like my own divorce. It is weird to be on the same side as my Ex, and to be in agreement, and everything. Neither one of us wants our daughter to go through what we did, or what I did, especially; and, neither one of us wants to go through it, again! That is the shortened (honestly) tale of why I have not been around much. Now, on to the features. Gloria Yellow Inversion :was featured in Yellow Gallery 19 days ago Thank you, Yellow Gallery! Slice of Ordinary Me was featured in Finks of Ink 4 days ago. Wow! I think this is now my most featured piece. Well, I think it already was my most featured piece, but, now, even more so. I’m both humbled and amazed, especially as this was a hands on thing. Digital is great, but, canvas, paint, marker, etc. is all about you, and nothing about the programmer. Well, unless you are speaking religiously! Mirimi 6 17 2009 was featured 2 days ago, thanks be to the THE SISTERHOOD And, Cry was featured in Bits and Pieces, thanks to those wonderful hosts, with the great artistic sense hee hee Thank you all, very much.
