whatever will be, will be / The future’s not ours to see / ‘Hey’ Sarah Sarah / What will be, will be. When I was young, I didn’t know this song was italian, so I sang it thinking it was ‘Hey Sarah Sarah, instead of Que Sera Sera :)

Yes, they are my feet and I’m relaxing on the beach watching the kids play in the water. I gave this image some texture and it reminds me of a very lazy, Aussie summer’s day at the beach.
Here is a photo of my youngest two. My little girl was cold at the beach so her bigger brother gave her cuddles to keep her warm and I was there to catch it.

This was an interpretation of the lyrics to the 1920’s Louis Armstrong song, Black and Blue. Essentially it is about racism and division. The little girl is looking at what she will probably never obtain. / It is a mixture of watercolour, ink, pen and collage.

“There are two things parents should give their children: roots and wings. Roots to give them bearing and a sense of belonging, but also wings to help free them from constraints and prejudices and give them other ways to travel, or rather, to fly.” / - Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe Canon 50d. / 17-85 IS USM
Artists Note: This is a childhood fantasy, a tea party with plenty of animal friends to indulge in treats and play with you. This portrayal would be such a lovely dream for me :-) Stock: Deer Girl Bear Fox Tea Cup
sales of this design so far – 1 sale / / / I’ve gone a bit crazy with elephants lately, and after seeing little Luk Chai the baby elephant at Taronga Zoo, Sydney over the last couple of days, i just had to create yet another version, a little baby girl elephant this time, i hope you like her… in honour of ‘Luk Chai’... welcome to the world Little Prince… A pencil drawing coloured digitally :) This would make a nice welcome card for a new baby girl, nursery, children’s room, or a nice birthday gift and all occasion card or print for anyone who loves and collects elephants
/ / A little bit of nostalgia running through this drawing, with the good old love beads, i always love wearing love beads, and I still have some which are orange and lime … and another strand of blue and white. You can wear them so many different ways. The image was drawn in pencil on cartridge paper in my A3 spiral bound art journal and after photographing I coloured her digitally on the computer. Before I took the photo I actually painted her ‘love beads’ with acrylics and inks…and i stuck a fimo flower on her beads, which i made for another application, and then painted it naples yellow with a white centre.
I have been scanning lots of negatives lately and came across these that I took last autumn. I didn’t initially print them because my beloved Leica R3 had a light leak – some negs were beyond saving but I have managed to get quite a few where I feel the light leakage has actually been beneficial to the outcome. I may be posting more from this series or might just put them on my website .. they work better as a body of work than singular. You get more of an insight into childhood and how a walk in a frost laden woodland opens up a new world to them.
A family of siblings, heading home from the show. / Commisioned painting. / Oil on canvas 12×16 inches *Top ten in the Painters in Modern Times -Narrative Art Challenge December 2009. Thanks!
/ Get the TShirt Tears from Heaven / / The Peacock Empress is a drawing created a couple of days ago, while at the surgery with my daughter, i had a vision of it which impressed strongly in my mind, and i was able to draw it once I got home. The idea was the Empress was rising up over the waters. There’s lots of symbolism in this, but it’s purely for my own benefit and the viewer may decide how the symbolism relates to them…the colour has been done in Photoshop. She has almost taken on the look of an oriental style “Luna Park” entrance at twilight, might be a nice design for those who celebrate “Chinese New Year” and/or collectors of asian inspired/related art
/ / / a pencil drawing, coloured digitally, fish from another painting. Cropped version Tribal / Many thanks to Keith Richardson for my signature chop
