*My work was featured in the group Video Montage / ( Thanks Muscular Teeth and Butchart ) Excerpt from “Abigail’s Friends” written by Anthony Hedger illustrated by Carrie Glenn. ...“I think we better go back now.” She whispered to the butterfly. / “Why?” The butterfly asked. “It’s only my friends and they are having a special tea party just for you, come on and I’ll introduce you to them.” / “Er, ok, if you think I’ll be alright?” / “Of course you’ll be alright.” The red fox called to her. “Come on your tea is getting cold.” / So for the next two hours Abigail sat with Mr. Fox, Mr. Bear, Miss Rabbit, Ms. Blue bird and a hundred different butterflies and had tea and cake and chatted as though she had known them all her life. by Wendy SleeHOPE / Hope still walks beside me on the road / Her gentle company eases the miles / And lightens the load a little. / On days of unwashed clothes and unkempt hair / She sometimes seems a little unprepared, / Yet mismatched shoes can still skip / And callused hands can still warm to the touch / Of love’s tender potential. / Some days her mind seems elsewhere / But when our eyes meet, / She is quick to smile, / And through her windows / The light burns brightly / For anyone who cares to share. / Hope is never pretty / But always beautiful, / She is a silhouette in an open doorway, / A soft touch as sleep dissolves / A memory that lingers in the folds of your heart. / She is the exhale of a sigh, / The softening of shoulders / To imagined caress, / The trickle of water at the source / Of a mighty river. / Hope never looks in the mirror, / Indeed, she looks beyond, / For she holds her own reflection / In a place I have yet to find. / Sometimes weary, / She falls behind, / Engulfed in the shadows of the past; / Sits down to rest in the settling dust. / A time-worn traveller, she fades from my view / As I continue on unaware. / Somewhere in the chill / I miss her hand in mine / And sit down by the roadside to wait. / In the stillness, / The road continues to pass me by / Regardless, / And if I close my eyes I can be / Wherever I wish to go and whomever / I choose to be, / Yet somehow the one I open my eyes to / Is me. / In these fragile precious moments / When quiet enters me and wraps my soul / In the solace of silence / And the road has lost its urgency, / I look up to find her standing there. / We hug / Old friends, / The holding hands, continue on our way. / Some days Hope takes her own path, / But most days, she still walks beside me. / She lives in me / And I live in Hope…

/ I used candlewax, few different sized black marker pens, retractable pencils, charcoal white and black, ink and pastels on a small piece of timber to create “Happiness Always”......and that’s what I wish for everyone…. happiness always it could be for a newborn baby, just cheer someone who’s a little sad, or for a birthday ~ wishing someone happiness always is just a nice thing to do any time of the year :)

To have a good friend, take their hand… and walk on the beach. This is a story.. of best friends who happend to marry best friends who both have two year olds. The girl is my daughter Summer and her best of friends Matthew. Thank you Larissa for calling this to my attention. I have been away on vacation with limited internet access so I will be catching up soon. I just couldnt resist this shot as I was mulling through my picts of the week spent with friends and family. Taken in the Outer Banks of NC. WOW! Thank you all so much for the comments, and favs. This is a very special image to me. I’m thrilled so many others took the time to take a visit. I appreciate you all.

She spontaneously expresses her love and gratitude with a symbolic hug, revealing her love for her surrounds during a moonlit walk. Just the thing for friends, children, nursery, birthdays, special occasions and something a little different perhaps for an unusual Christmas card.

/ / “Beach Picnic” is a pencil drawing which I’ve coloured digitally, I hope you like this image with mother and daughter in similar sundresses. As a child we enjoyed beach picnics all the time, mum would make us special fried chicken (better than Kentucky Fried) and we would go out on the boat to a little island, where i would play with soldier crabs for hours on end, while dad fished and mum sunbaked… they were wonderful times. We also went on the annual Beach Picnic to Bonny Hills with the church and we were great friends with the priest back in those days who was a top water skier.. We would see so many things at Bonny Hills, sea snakes slithered past in the creek where we were swimming and there were amazing white clay deposits in the sand….hours of fun were had by all… not to mention we even had a little mass there… top fun :)

Bramble Rainbowtree…. she throws her arms skyward reaching to the heavens above… spots, stripes, flowers and streamers are added to convey the celebration and joyfulness in her spontaneous gesture…. ...Little Bramble Rainbowtree began as a little pencil drawing inspired by my beautiful niece Maya, who has the longest hair ever! This so reminds me of her, except that Maya’s hair is much more beautiful and much darker in colour. ...I have coloured Bramble Rainbowtree digitally, I hope you like this special fairy :) ...a great little vintage design for big and little girls, friends, birthdays, gifts, bedroom decor, nursery walls, etc.

/ / There’s an Elephant in my Garden / a drawing on catridge from my Art Diary / digitally coloured I hope that the grownups who look at this painting will remember something special from their childhood, some hopeful feeling, which will help them through today’s difficulties. There are all the colours of the rainbow in this piece, to remind us that there is always hope, no matter how hopeless it seems sometimes. The rainbow is a sign of hope. Children See/Children Do powerful message for grownups I hope that all the children who look at this painting will drift off into a faraway place in their imagination and feel wonderful for a while, especially if things are getting them down…and if life is wonderful, may this little picture add to the wonder and spark the imagination.
