A backstage shot from my first attempt at event photography. The show was so dynamic and energetic that I wasn’t suprised to find the lead singer bent over catching his breath in the green room. I’m starting to appreciate candid photography more and more. There really is something special about capturing a moment that would otherwise be lost in time. This piece came to me after a pretty good day. I wanted to put down how I felt in my head; dreamy, light hearted, postitive and colourful! I really love the colours in this picture and the floating bubbles really capture a great moment. I wish my whol elife was like this.

A little boy playing the piano with his stuffed lamb as his trusted companion reminded me of the well-known song, “Jesus loves the little children” who are His beloved lambs of which He spoke so tenderly.

They Neither Toil Nor Spin Once in an early morning time when the children were / sleeping and I was enjoying the tranquil beginnings of a new day, I noticed a little squirrel just outside my bedroom window. He was scratching around in search of his breakfast when all of a sudden he caught sight of a luscious find—a plump mushroom that had sprung up almost magically during the rainy hours before dawn. The squirrel nibbled all around the tender cap of the mushroom leaving behind only a naked stem. Not long after, another squirrel appeared. Evidently he wasn’t too persnickety because he chomped eagerly into the leftover stem with great relish, sending bits and pieces flying across the lawn for the next hungry creature that came by. It was an amusing little scenario, but it was also inspiring and instructive. I thought about how those two little squirrels had fallen asleep the night before when there was no mushroom in sight. Most likely they had drifted off peacefully, instinctively relying on the One who always provides. In the morning, they had gone out in search of that provision, had found it and accepted it, not only without complaint, but with exuberance and enthusiasm. Like the lilies of the field, I realized, the squirrels neither toil nor spin, not in the sense that they don’t work, for they do. But, rather in the sense that they do not expend valuable energy and time in needless worry, fretfulness, or grumbling. The next time a need arises in my life and there are / no answers in sight, I hope I’ll think of the lilies of / the field and the squirrels in my yard. I hope that / I too will neither toil nor spin.

I think Natasha is fed up with the rain as much as the rest of us, so she’s painted us a rainbow to cheer us all up.

These two little porcelain angels were a gift to me from my dearly departed mother-in-law Mona Barry. Every time I see them I think of her (a mother of ten) and of the verse from “Silent Night”: sleep in heavenly peace.
