Someone (not from RB) remarked that they didn’t like the way I photographed my children in such dark tones and they felt children should be photographed in colour – they felt it captured childhood better – maybe they have a point – but I photograph this way to try and capture either a timelessness or the spirit of the moment – anyway, I haven’t listen and i have made an earlier image even darker – just did a bit of dodging and burning.

Cusco, Peru’ ! / While walking in Cusco a few days ago I met this little girl, Flor, and her sister Yolanda ! I had already taken a picture of them last year ” Flor y Yolanda ” and when I showed them a copy of the photo.. they were so impressed that they asked me to take more pictures. This is just one of the many I took ! She is so confident and loves to be photographed !!! I love this picture for the way she poses here, the way she smiles, her spontaneity.. and the beautiful contrast of colors !!!

Cusco, Perú !!! / This is one of the first shot I took in Cusco this year !!! / I had just arrived and I was feeling a bit strange and not really in the mood to take pictures of people.. I was maybe thinking about life a bit too much ! / But when she passed by I said something funny to her and pressed the bottom !! / I´m glad i did !

2500+ views, 33 faves. This is one of my favourite shots taken on black and white film and taken in St Mark’s Square in Venice, Italy. I have scanned the print. I like the timelessness of this shot and the sense of innocence. She was surrounded by the pigeons at first and she didn’t mind. But later, one flew on her head and she minded a lot. I recently made a sale on redbubble with this shot. A matted print in Off White to Lucy, my sister-in-law, in the UK. Many thanks so much for purchasing this. This shot was featured in the Urban Art Group, the Other Side of Italy and the I love Italy Group.

Reloaded as it wasn’t showing on activity lists! Having tried to get her to pose for me and failing on the whole, I gave up and she started playing with her NDS… well i grabbed two scarves she has, which were freebies from the local Wok Buffet Restaurant and managed to get them to stay on her head and snapped about 10 shots whilst she was playing, every odd shot I had to say DS down as it was getting higher and higher and was in the picture! Well this is the result and I actually quite like it! Natural light through the window. Aged 8 years. Nikon D40 18-55mm

I took this picture in the bus that was taking me from Jujuy ( north of Argentina ) to La Quiaca, at the border with Bolivia ! This child was sitting just next to me. / Loved the way his father was looking after him, although he fell asleep more than once leaving the little child curiously looking around when at some point he stared at me for so long that I had the time to get my camera and take this picture !
