I was outside,far from my grand-dauther,looking at an exibition when I turned my head and saw Angelica trying to stay on the narrow side of the fontain.It was about 5.30 p.m and the sun was going through the water,it was magical.Taken at “Le jardin Botanique de Montréal” /

“Listen a hundred times; ponder a thousand times; speak once.” / - TURKISH PROVERB My son Kane had no idea I was photographing him at this time…He was just wondering sweetly along a path in a local parkland area when suddenly he stopped and leaned on the fence. I honestly could not believe what I was seeing through my viewfinder when he did it. Then when I saw the photograph it just blew me away. Kane is 3 years old in this photograph. This is my all time favourite photograph I’ve taken with my DSLR to date. Played with the colour version in photoshop and am very pleased with the outcome. My good friend Caroline commented that she liked the “icy” tones in this one. Since I read those words I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it. I’ve spent all day thinking that I agree with her…..this image looks cold…. So my thoughts went to one of my favourite novels of all time, “The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe”, and the youngest of the Pevensie Children, Lucy, The first to discover the secret winter-bound land of Narnia. So, in honour of nagging thoughts & curious little girls, I’m re-titling this image. Ahh summer has arrived early for some of us this year. After a day at the beach last weekend, I was able to get that good old feeling back that only summer can bring! These kids were playing around at the beach, and I couldn’t help but be reminded of a time in life when going to the beach, making a sand castle, digging a hole to fill when tide comes in, finding something living a rock and burying someone in sand were the best things you could ever do. Life’s simple pleasures. I live for a sunny day.
