A little girl and her day-to-day chore of collecting sticks and wood. I presume to be used for fire wood. This scene was captured about 1km walk from the mountain town of Sapa in northern Vietnam.

This is one of the main temples in Vang Vien, Laos. The temple buildings are beautifully ornate and the surrounding garden is peaceful. On this day however, a number of the monks were busy conducting repairs on the building and, the younger ones especially, were scouting in and out of the windows and up and down the ladder as part of their work. They held a group of us captivated, cameras in hand, with their cheeky expression and playful teasing. I loved the strong contrast of the orange robe against the pink building – I think the colours capture the playfulness of the atmosphere even more than the monk’s expression in this case.

These two brothers were just contrast of each other… the little one was just shy and the big brother, meaning of the word: Brave! / at the first moments he didnt even look at me… I thought he was scaring! but after some minutes, he turn to be Ok but not so easy! always at this mood… he was kinda ‘wonder for me by his age… a really “touching” look! When we rocked up in Jaisalmar in between these great walls the first thing I saw was this little girl ..balancing..on this rope..wauw i thought how amazing…i watched her many times, she had to earn the family money, mum and dad and little baby where there to collect the money. / I spoke to the father, he told me when he was small he used to do this for many many years, now it was his daughters turn…..she was a lovely child,,but i did feel sad too….
