Do you have a memory of being a little ballerina on the stage, or perhaps you had a dream you were…..like Anna Pavlova or Margot Fonteyne, or did you dream of Rudolph Nureyov….. do you know a little girl you love who loves to dance and dress up….CHUNKIE Ballerina might be just the thing for her…available as greeting cards, prints and posters here on red bubble. Once the Chunkies are created and photographed, I usually dismantle them to be used in the creation of more chunkies, so I am recycling the plasticine. These Chunkies have been very therapeutic to create over the holidays, whilst taking a break from red bubble and having my family around. I have many more to come, and although I won’t be on RB as much, I hope to also be doing some serious painting this year…so i look forward 2009 with much anticipation …

CHUNKIE Pirate is made from plasticine/clay…...the boat is an origami brown paper boat I made from a template I found on the internet, and then I’ve coloured it in photoshop, applying stripes!!! The birds, palms, seastar and coloured stones are all taken from original paintings, one of the flags is made from plasticine and the other flag taken from a painting, other bits were created digitally, such as the sky…and the sand is a page from an ancient book i have in my bookcase at home…the pirate has a real earring made from pure silver and the anchor is black plasticine attached to the boat “The Seven Seas” with a silver ball chain…..he comes to you with open arms and hopes to brighten your day with his salty yarns from the high seas!! • Gorgeous day out in London resulting in the usual amble along the Southbank. All the usual skaters there .. then spotted this child and his scooter staring in to the deeply shadowed skate park. Did very little post processing – dropped the exposure to remove any remaining detail from the dark part of the shot (which was already near pitch black from the very strong light and how I shot it), dropped the saturation a touch too. All in Lightroom. C&C welcome.

Thankyou to everyone who has been commenting and writing to me for the last couple of weeks- your patience with my non, or late replies has been wonderful! I’ve not been well for a while, and am hopefully getting back on my feet now, so should be back into the swing of things shortly! There have been a few features in my absence!!!! To which I am grateful! / Big Blue Eyes of a Princess was featured in Love for your Children along with One to make you smile (one of my favourite keepsake photos by the way, its nice to know others like it too!) Saturday Afternoon at the Monkey Temple was featured in All Street Portraiture and Photography- a great honour, as there is such brilliant work there! A beautiful Life was featured in Fabulous Ts- how exciting! Thankyou to the hosts of Nepal-Urban and Rural for featuring Cheeky Monkey A gorgeous little fella we met while walking through the tiny village of Jorsalle- a great treat to see him, and his brothers and sisters dancing and singing for us as we walked toward them! The Human Condition group featured Trying it on another one of my favourites, with the confident pose of a young monk. Who takes Care of the Children? was featured in Speaking Photos and I became a featured Member! Very exciting, and thankyou to everyone who voted for the image in the “There’s pain in your eyes” competition! And…the poster for the local landcare group Wollemi Warriors was featured in the Earth Keepers Group. A wonderful group with a very important message! I encourage everyone interested in our planet to take a look at this group! I think that’s got everything covered! Thankyou also to the people who have bought Ride like a Girl Tshirts- which are proving very popular!

  • #A complete digital creation using only brushes, including my daughter who is also from the brush set I have for sale.. (see my writing for my brushes and grunge set..) / Appears to be standing in a field watching on as a star falls to earth. I started this at approx 2am completed 5:34am, experimenting with the brushes, one thing led to another and before I knew it I was using the eraser with the brush of my child duplicating another background of black I set the eraser to 100% and with a click my daughter appeared beautifully, I blended it over the original background which if you really close you can see bubbles, this was from a photo of a glass sphere that had the bubbles in its design, then added paint brush with field effects, star and trail mist.. / Using tangerine and blue colourings I textured it until I felt happy with the effect.. I wanted it dark and moody.. Hope you like it :) Featured In:

  • I was photographing these beautiful seagulls by the water, and out of nowhere, this boy started running towards them, they swooped up like a gust of wind, and I just started snapping as many frames as I could. This was my favorite shot…....
