    by scarlettcat

    US$3.71–US$98.80

Lily loves birds, but you already guessed that, right? These are three of her darling bluebird friends, helping her with her hair. Actually two of them are helping and one is having a little rest (lazy bugger). ..................................♥ the fine print ♥…................................ by scarlettcat

    US$3.71–US$98.80

Most people have cats or dogs as pets, but not this little miss. She’s adores insects and has made friends with a darling little blue caterpillar. The name ‘inchworm’ is from a song in the 1952 film, Hans Christian Anderson – which I’m fairly sure was redone by the Muppets. :) ..................♥ the fine print ♥…............... • He Sure is an Ugly One
    by Steven Novak

    US$3.42–US$91.20

The monsters find him confusing and quite repulsive. You know, just like that “Twilight Zone” episode…only not on television…and with monsters and cross-hatching. (Okay, so they actually have very little in common.)

  • This is the image I used for both the front and back cover of “Snow Man is my Friend.” It’s simple, but it’s kind of sweet at the same time. Wait. Did I just type, “It’s simple but it’s kind of sweet?” Who am I, Rachel Ray? This also marks the first drawing of the actual snow man from the book. No doubt some of you were thinking, “Why in the hell did he title a book Snow Man is My Friend if there isn’t a snow man in it?”

  • medium-pencil / better photo of my work…

  • I Can Feel It Breathing
    by Steven Novak

    US$3.42–US$91.20

Another black and white from my picture book “Snow Man is My Friend.”

  • Here’s yet another illustration from “Snow Man Is My Friend.” More than any of the others, I think this is the one that scared away publishers. Pretty straight-forward stuff. No trees, now cute snow man, no metaphor, it is what it is. I like it. I think it’s solid, but it certainly isn’t your average picture book illustration.
