Someday, we will arrive home to that wonderful place called heaven. Prepared for us ahead of time by our creator. Our Journey home begins at our youth and no matter what twists and turns lie ahead.. we can make it home! /
It all started with a TV screen shot. I got then inspired to start a series of compositions called The colours of love. This artwork is the first in this series. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did creating it. This artwork was Sold in canvas format: /
This was taken in a dark room, with just enough daylight to highlight the feet. I opened the curtains a little just to allow the natural daylight in. My wife was holding Eli as I took the shot using a Tripod and remote . 100% of all proceeds from sale of all my art goes toward our Charity Projects in Deep Rural Africa. Emotive piece of art drawn in Graphite Pencil…L K Southward- Iconic Art UK Nominated for ‘Pay it Forward’ by Andy Mueller IPA “I have so many favorite works of art on the bubble that it is tough to narrow it down to just one. But every time I see this one, I know it is the one piece that triggers the most emotion out of me. So, I’d love to submit my Pay It Forward to a wonderful British Artist L K Southward and her graphite pencil drawing called “This is your son”. Every time I see this drawing, I have tears welling up in my eyes. It is such a strong piece of work, and she clearly is a very talented artist.” Featured in the group THE EEG on 9th May 2009 Featured in the War – lest we forget group for the 141st Memorial Day (1868-2009) Featured in the Pencil Drawing group on 13th September 2009 Original drawing sold on 29th April 2009

Prakash’s parents are very poor – they own a small cart and eke a living selling earrings and necklaces out of glass and ceramic beads from the cart on the street. When I saw the cart and asked permission to take some shots – he dived into a bag and pulled out a bunch of clippings to show me with obvious pride that they had been featured in a number of newspapers. Another example I’ve tried to capture of happiness despite poverty. Wonder what the secret is…. Taken with Nikon D80 and 50mm f1.8 lens.
Here’s my oldest boy paddling out just like me to watch the sunset after a very hot summer’s day. No photoshop as I have already been asked.

/ / nurture / The act of nourishing or nursing; tender care; education; training; That which nourishes; food; diet; The environmental influences that contribute to the development of an individual; see also nature; to nourish or nurse / en.wiktionary.org/wiki/nurture Media – pencil and photoshop / Substrate – paper I can’t explain this, ‘cept to say, it’s inspired by our connection with nature and the fragility of life itself sometimes, the message coming through is to nurture life by way of fostering goodwill toward one another and accepting we have a duty of care to our natural world also. Because Easter is approaching I thought it appropriate :) The child’s sustenance, or umbilical cord if you like is coming from a tree, symbolic of the healing that nature can bring….the new life and growth that comes with nurture both of spirit and of nature. Humility is understanding our rightful place in the scheme of all things, including nature, family structure and the wider community…... a world where there is tolerance for all, is the one i pray for

Hand drawn and coloured in Adobe Illustrator. My entry for the Social Conscience challenge. Burma has the largest number of child soldiers in the world. The vast majority of them serve in the national army, which forcibly recruits children as young as 11. They are often forced to commit atrocities against villagers, and many of them will never see their family again. More information can be found at Human Rights Watch or Amnesty International.
Here’s a photo I took today of my little girl… she insisted on dressing up in her wings so I decided to go with it and this was the result! / Processed in RAW in Lightroom 2 / Nikon D200 / 18-20mm lens
Here is a re-worked image of my little girl and my husband which was on RB a while ago.. I keep coming back to it so finally decided to play with it and here it is… I originally had this image in colour but got some great advice from a fellow bubbler to try it in b&w so I did…... This image was taken when my little girl fell over on the rocks and hurt her knees and her daddy gave her a piggy back to the car before the storm came.
