Sales of this Design? – 2 sales so far :) Jack and Jill by Karin Taylor / you are viewing the original creation created from a roll of brown kraft paper / i will subsequently load another couple of versions to RED Bubble soon… and they will also be available as prints, cards and a specially crafted one for tshirts will be here soon too Jack and Jill – The Creative Process a) tear large ‘rips’ of brown kraft paper from the roll / in a frenzy..helps also rid one of general frustrations of life / b) grab a huge paint brush / c) discover lid of gesso is sealed shut, requires a hammer to / remove lid / d) bash gesso lid repeatedly on desk / e) discover gesso has been flung all over the studio floor due to small holes / caused from bashing the gesso / f) clean studio floor prior to doing anything else, as gesso dries fast / g) relax …. dip paintbrush in gesso and slather it all over the brown paper / strips in long horizontal strokes… most therapeutic time of / process…mindless brushwork / h) let the paper dry….and start thinking…hmmm what will i draw? / i) come up with a brilliant idea…. / j) try to draw brilliant idea many times, resulting in lots of screwed up brown / paper and wasted gesso / k) finally come up with brilliant design, oh yes.!! “Jack n Jill” Brilliant idea…but / they’ve all but grown up whilst ‘in situ’ . Jack now sporting a divinely / devilish goatee and Jill always the dreamer, now sporting a resemblance / to the flower children of the sixties, a favourite era of mine…..This also / works rather well becoz aswe all know, after Jack fell down and broke his / crown, he fixed it up with vinegar and brown paper…since Jack is drawn on / brown paper, he won’t have to go too far for a plaster / l) trace over the briliant design with a black texta / m) colour in the brilliant design with whatever’s handy and stick stuff on when / drawing fails completely and you don’t know what else to do..also…when / all else seems to fail resort to those old gum rubbers with star and flower / stampings i made an aeon ago…yep…stamp, stamp, stamp.. works well! / n) to make the bucket…i had stuffed it up completely….so with nothing to lose / i poured ink on paper towel, then cut towel into bucket shape and / stamped it… / o) i used pastels and coloured faber castell pencils plus a heap of charcoal / and some acrylic paint in the mix…. a messy and fun process / p) play with it in photoshop!! a lot!!! / / Mounted Print / Jack and Jill at Twilight Prints and Cards

Meet Angelica, my grandaughter and I’m passionnate about my Angel.This pic was taken three years ago when we used to do gardenning together,so many days we spend together then.She’s sseven now and we don’t have time together like we used to .I have great expectations for that little girl.She told me a few weeks ago that when she grow up I’ll just have to write books and she will put the images in them.She is very good with drawing and i’m thinking about showing the first steps in photography .She had a camera for Christmas ,i can’t wait to go photo shooting with her.I think about her everyday ,wondering if everything is ok for her ,when I’m with her the time stops and I become a better person ,that’s real love …I took that pic when she was watering the flowers,she was so concentrated,I spend days with her in my garden ,moments I will never forget. / I did the Orton effects on that pic,I wanted this timeless feeling of an old photography.

Yes, they are my feet and I’m relaxing on the beach watching the kids play in the water. I gave this image some texture and it reminds me of a very lazy, Aussie summer’s day at the beach.

Cusco, Peru’ ! / While walking in Cusco a few days ago I met this little girl, Flor, and her sister Yolanda ! I had already taken a picture of them last year ” Flor y Yolanda ” and when I showed them a copy of the photo.. they were so impressed that they asked me to take more pictures. This is just one of the many I took ! She is so confident and loves to be photographed !!! I love this picture for the way she poses here, the way she smiles, her spontaneity.. and the beautiful contrast of colors !!!

As with ‘Burberry girl’ looks can be deceiving. Beauty in poverty hits you between the eyes in Africa. This was taken in the Democratic Republic of Congo. If you have seen the film ‘Blood Diamond’ then you will have a good understanding of what it’s like in D.R. Congo. This was pure fun, there was this whole group of women and one “beautifull’ man, i really wanted to take his shot and they where asking me ‘why you want photo from that man”, well i said because he is ‘beautifull’ they thought that was sooo funny..they wanted on the photo ,forget about him, take us! so i did offcourse and that attracted more people…finally i made a shot of the ‘beautifull’ man too.. but that was at least an hour later!! First day at the primary school…. / I was small. / My feet couldn’t reach to the ground when I sat on the chair. / My friends also couldn’t reach their feet. / We giggled quietly and swang our feet a little. / The school entrance ceremony was outside. / Under the beautiful cherry blossoms. / ‘Asian Series’ card by Karin Taylor Catch of the Day is a sweet little painting done in mixed media…using ink, acrylic, charcoal and pastels. I had so much fun creating this little character, and dressing her in a fur coat and beanie. She is being drawn along by her dolphin friend and a butterfly has thought to come visit too. Catch of the Day was inspired by a children’s book I used to read to my children when they were little, my brother gave it them. It’s a great story called ‘The Hottest Boy Who Ever Lived’ the illustrations by Kim Gamble I think are awesome. The little girl is very much like me, she loves to fish with a bamboo fishing pole, wriggly worm attached! I also love to fish out in the open ocean with my pa.. hence it also has a smidge of sentimental value.
