Check it out here! ** / Molly the Lil Witch, Oscar and Ophelia by Paul Rees-Jones The night was stormy and rather bleak, / Molly was a little bored witchy freak. She mulled over spells and warmed up her cauldron, / To create some friends to end her boredom. She delicately sewed a doll from rags, / Smiling and singing, a rather cute hag. And when she was done she was bright as a star, / Because held in her hands was the rag boy, Oscar. But soon she thought about the little boys heart, / To be all alone when his life just starts. So she borrowed small string of yarn from his hair, / And fashioned Ophelia, a sister to share. A spell and a cloud of nasty green smoke, / And Molly had made two little doll folk.

  • Hero
    by Mundy Hackett

    US$5.10

This is the unframed version without a quote attached. There have been requests for this version. Captive “The youth, intoxicated with his admiration of a hero, fails to see, that it is only a projection of his own soul, which he admires.” Ralph Waldo Emerson Who is you’re hero? / / Name: Panthera tigris sumatrae (Sumatran Tiger) Description: The Sumatran tiger has the darkest coat of all tigers. Its broad, black stripes are closely spaced and often doubled. Unlike the Siberian tiger, it has striped forelegs. Sumatran tigers are the smallest tiger subspecies. Males average 2.4 meters (8 feet) in length from head to tail and weigh about 120 kilograms (264 pounds). Females measure approximately 2.2 meters (7 feet) in length and weigh about 90 kilograms (198 pounds). Distribution: The Sumatran tiger is found only on the Indonesian island of Sumatra in habitat that ranges from lowland forest to submontain and montain forest with some peat-moss forest. Biology: The Sumatran tiger eats wild pig, big deer (called rusa), and small deer (called muntjak or barking deer). The specific range size of this tiger is not know, however the population density is approximately 4–5 adult tigers/100 km 2 (39 mile 2) in optimal lowland rainforest. As elevation increases through submontain and montain forests, the number of tigers in any given area decreases because there is less prey available. Status in the wild: 400-500 wild Sumatran tigers were believed to exist in 1998, primarily in the island’s national park areas, but no island-wide census or monitoring system has been possible. Tiger numbers have continued to decline because of poaching of tigers to supply the illegal trade in tiger parts. The last remnants of lowland forest are being eliminated to establish oil palm plantations and for shifting agriculture by recent settlers from other areas of Sumatra and Indonesia. Ongoing road development makes many formerly inaccessible mountain areas accessible to illegal logging even on the steepest slopes, and many mountainous areas are being converted into plantations for coffee and other products for international markets. Tigers are legally protected but are not highly valued. Captive breeding: For three years, the Indonesian Zoological Parks’ Association (PKBSI) has been working with the Tiger Global Conservation Strategy to develop a conservation program for Sumatran tigers. In addition to the 65 Sumatran tigers living in Indonesian zoos, there are 55 tigers managed by North American zoos, 100 in European zoos, and 12 in Australasian zoos. This captive population is descended from 37 wild-caught founders. The Indonesian Sumatran Tiger Masterplan now has the potential to function as the heart of the Sumatran tiger population worldwide. It is designed to preserve sufficient genetic diversity to reinforce both captive and wild populations, thus fulfilling its goal to ensure that the in situ tiger program comprises verifiable founders permanently identified and registered in the Indonesian Sumatran Tiger Studbook. It also extends the capabilities of Indonesian zoo staff to professionally manage their tiger programs in Indonesia, and at the same time serves as a model for other range country tiger management programs in Southeast Asia.

  • The Conductor
    by Deborah Parkin

    US$3.42–US$91.20

This was taken at the same place as ‘boy alone’. I wanted to put it up because it really makes me smile and feel happy at the sheer lack on inhibition some children have – this is Abe being a conductor and singing his heart out – totally nuts!!!!! I admire this as i am and was as a child very self-conscious – so this is my tribute to those who are free-spirited!!! / (I have also put it up to put on my calender :0)) * /

  • Taken a couple of days ago in Ilha do Mocambique, a small island forgotten some 2500km from Mozambiquan capital Maputo. It is less than 3 km long but has more than 1500 years of history. Until 1898 this was the capital of the Portuguese colony of Mozambique and the focal point of their trade and industry. The island was a major Arab port and boatbuilding centre long before Vasco da Gama visited in 1498. The island is an amazing melting pot of cultures with influences of Madagascar, Tanzania, India, Portugal, Brazil, and the Middle East, even if 85% of the inhabitants are Muslims. Today, the island is a maze of narrow streets hemmed by tall buildings with a bustling harbour and market. I decided to work there in a school for the Art in All of Us activities. It was a long trip from Lilongwe (capital of Malawi) to get this Pearl of the Ocean. No direct transport to do the about 1000 km to the Island. It is then with patience, smile and craziness that we traveled 180 km of minibus, 60 km of pick up, 15 km of bushtaxi, 7km of bicycle, 10km by foot, 180 hitchhiking, 550 km by train, 4 km by foot, 125 km of minibus, 55 km of minibus to reach the embark to the Ilha. It was worth the nearly 3 days and nights of travel and transpiration. Kids of the visited school were really amazing and so creative ! Their drawings and poetries will be uploaded soon on our website. In the meanwhile you can see recent uploaded Jordan gallery http://www.artinallofus.org/photos.htm This picture was taken early morning in front of the green Mosque. It was prayer time. A magic moment we spent before school starts ! No photoshop on this picture. Straight from my Nikon D200! Frankie and Temperance by Paul Rees-Jones Frankie was made in a hurry, in the lab, / Brought to life on a cold electric slab. He was given a body with all of the parts, / And was given an oversized heart. From the moment he saw her , she was his deliverence, / That dead Lil Zombie, the cute and lovely Temperance. He swooned and swayed, thought he’d pop a stitch, / Whenever around her, his voice lost it’s pitch. He planned and tried so often to say, / The words in his heart every day. Now if he knew how Temperance felt for him, / He wouldn’t have worry, nor feel so grim. Cause when she looked at him with her good eye, / Inside her cold heart was a loving sweet sigh. So there they are these sweet Lil dears, / All thats stopping their love is their silly fears.
