This child watched through a broken window as we worked inside. It’s times like this when the natural, uncontrived symbolism of circumstance just presents itself to you and all you have to do is click. There was not pretence, no staging, no crap. Just reality. It still engages me now. Look at his eyes. What is he thinking? He’s aching. He is full on aching. How can I help them more, how can I help them more, how can I help them more… Please give if you can or pass it on to someone else. That’s giving too. All proceeds to charity. I was to be born yesterday / but my mother didn’t want me, / so, she went to see an M.D. / and two other ‘doctors’ she had to see. / They helped her get rid of me, / these upstanding men with their ‘P.H.D.’s’. Now I won’t be able to grow up to be / an outstanding member of the community / nor help to conquer a rare disease / or grow old with friends to surround me. Never to write a line of poetry / or dance and live and love, you see / I’ve never had a chance to be, / because mother didn’t want me. © amari / ___ Job 31:18: (For from my youth he was brought up with me, as with a father, and I have guided her from my mother’s womb;) Ps 22:10: I was cast upon thee from the womb: thou art my God from my mother’s belly. Ps 127:3: Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward. Isa 44:2: Thus saith the LORD that made thee, and formed thee from the womb, Isa 44:24: Thus saith the LORD, thy redeemer, and he that formed thee from the womb, I am the LORD that maketh all things; that stretcheth forth the heavens alone; that spreadeth abroad the earth by myself; Isa 49:15: Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee. Jer 1:5: Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations. / ________ “The moral test of any society is how it treats its weakest members.” ”...how it treats its weakest members” (according to the internet it was Ghandi, Churchill, Truman, etc, etc, etc.) Words like those of Mahatma Ghandi who said, “A nation’s greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members.” / Churchill said that you measure the degree of civilisation of a society by how it treats its weakest members. Truman said a society will be judged by how it treats its weakest members. “Any society, any nation, is judged on the basis of how it treats its weakest members—the last, the least, the littlest.” ~Cardinal Roger Mahony, In a 1998 letter, Creating a Culture of Life It is said that the worth of society can be measured by the manner in which it treats its weakest member. “The greatness of any city can be judged by the way it treats its weakest member.” You can judge the character and quality of life in a community by how it treats its weakest members It is said that a civilization is measured by how it treats its weakest members – including, of course, it children. The greatness of America is in how it treats its weakest members: the elderly, the infirm, the handicapped, the underprivileged, the unborn. ~Bill Federer “A society will be judged on the basis of how it treats its weakest members and among the most vulnerable are surely the unborn and the dying,” ~Pope John Paul II If one considers the observation that the worth and dignity of a civilization is judged by the way it the treats its weakest members, we cannot help but look back in shame at our past. ~Social Justice Yesterday – Today – Tomorrow, A Critical Reflection, By Rudolf Rickes I created this image with a series of actions. First I took a drawing I did of the infant’s hand in the man’s hand and softened it using Adobe Photoshop 3 smudged tool. Next, I used Photoshop CS3 to merge that image with a photo of an infant’s face which you can see if you look behind the planet..it shows up in the sky. Following that, I modified the colors of that image, inversed it and added it to an image I had created using Apophysis fractal art – using the ‘difference’ mode. Then I merged those images. Next, I modified the colors of the hands and overlayed them onto the merged image to enhance and modify the final colors. Done. / ________ I would like to share a beautiful poem with you written by the extremely talented “Amber Elizabeth.” Amber was inspired by this work of art to write this wonderful work of poetry called Fine woven Thread Images Do Not Belong To The Public Domain. I received a wonderful email this morining containing this letter. This letter inspired this work of art titled “Safely in Heaven”: THIS IS THE EMAIL I RECEIVED: i DO NOT KNOW MEREDITH OR ABBEY, BUT THIS STORY IS BEAUTIFUL This is one of the kindest things I’ve ever experienced. I have no way of knowing who sent it, but there is a beautiful soul working in the dead letter office at the Post Office. Our 14 year old dog, Abbey, died last month. The day after she died, my 4 year old daughter Meredith was crying and talking about how much she missed Abbey. She asked if we could write a letter to God so that when Abbey got to heaven, God would recognize her. I told her that I thought we could so she dictated these words: Dear God, Will you please take care of my dog? She died yesterday and is with you in heaven. I miss her very much. I am happy that you let me have her as my dog even though she got sick. I hope you will play with her. She likes to play with balls and to swim. I am sending a picture of her so when you see her. You will know that she is my dog. I really miss her. Love, Meredith. We put the letter in an envelope with a picture of Abbey and Meredith and addressed it to God/Heaven. We put our return address on it then Meredith pasted several stamps on the front of the envelope because she said it would take lots of stamps to get the letter all the way to heaven. That afternoon she dropped it into the letter box at the post office. A few days later, she asked if God had gotten the letter yet. I told her that I thought He had. Yesterday, there was a package wrapped in gold paper on our front porch addressed, ‘To Meredith,’ in an unfamiliar hand. Meredith opened it. Inside was a book by Mr. Rogers called, ‘When a Pet Dies.’ Taped to the inside front cover was the letter we had written to God in its opened envelope. On the opposite page was the picture of Abbey & Meredith and this note: Dear Meredith, Abbey arrived safely in heaven. Having the picture was a big help. I recognized Abbey right away. Abbey isn’t sick anymore. Her spirit is here with me just like it stays in your heart. Abbey loved being your dog. Since we don’t need our bodies in heaven, I don’t have any pockets to keep your picture in, so I am sending it back to you in this little book for you to keep and have something to remember Abbey by. Thank you for the beautiful letter and thank your mother for helping you write it and sending it to me. What a wonderful mother you have. I picked her especially for you. I send my blessings every day and remember that I love you very much. By the way, I’m easy to find, I am wherever there is love. Love, / God / ___ I personally believe all animals go to Heaven…. Re 5:9: And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; Re 5:12: Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing. Re 5:13: And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever. / ____ I created this work using a photo I had taken of my sister-in-law’s pet rottweiler named Lady. I used Photoshop CS3 to merge the images with an image a statue of Jesus from the Huntington Library and a picture of clouds from Arizona. Finally, I edited the image with Micrografx and finished the work. Digitally enhanced. Lady was such a gentle sweetheart. She became ill from lukemia and eventully succombed to her illness. The beautiful thing is that my nieces had already come to the Lord berore this. This incident brought us all closer when we were able to show our family scripture to support our belief’s about animals being created to live forever. Images Do Not Belong To The Public Domain. Growing up in poverty, / we struggled thru each day. / picking cotton, picking peaches, / picking prunes to pay our way. Feeling sorry for myself one day, / my mother overheard me complain. / “Stop,” she said, “and think / how lucky you are to live another day.” “Give thanks to God you’re healthy, / and all your limbs remain / unbroken and you’re not only beautiful / but you have a brain.” Keeping my muttering to myself, / I thought, “That’s easy for you to say. / but what good is being healthy? / and picking cotton doesn’t take a brain.” I’d heard about starving children in China / every time we ate. / But beans and potatoes were boring / when tha’ts the only thing on your plate. Then, one night when work was over / and it was very, very late, / I heard a muffled sobbing / and I turned to look that way. Thru the moonlight in the window / I saw my mother and heard her say, / “Thank you for my children / and carrying me thru this day.” I lay there quietly watching / and listening to her pray. / “Please don’t think I’m complaining, / this prayer is for my children,” she said. “They haven’t had the chance to see / your loving special grace / because they’re too young to look for / and recognize your face.” “So, I’m asking you to bless them / and help them rise above this place. / Yes, Lord they are healthy / and, for that, I give you thanks.” “But they mean more than life to me, / so won’t you help them and guide their steps away. / Though I’d love to keep them by my side, / I’ll give that up if they can just escape.” Her prayer went on for awhile / and tears ran down my face / as I listened to her pour her heart out / for God’s abiding grace. amari Image created with Photoshop CS3, Apophysis Fractal art, and Micrografx utilizing photo images and fractal art layers. / ___ Images Do Not Belong To The Public Domain. Now before I run to play, / Let me not forget to pray / To God who kept me through the night / And waked me with the morning light. / Help me, Lord, to love thee more / Than I ever loved before; / In my work and in my play / Be thou with me through the day. / Amen

Religious nutcases hear Satanic incantations from a child's toy
by Cl1n70n TyreeDoes it get any more Dark Ages without burning a witch???...
Does it get any more Dark Ages without burning a witch??? “Parents are outraged about the messages they’re hearing from a doll. It’s Fisher-Price’s “Little Mommy Real Loving Baby Cuddle and Coo” doll. Some people claim they can hear it mumble “Satan is king” in one track; then clearly speak “Islam is the light” in another. Gary Rofkahr of Owasso was at his office, when a man brought the doll in to show his co-workers. “There’s no markings on the box to indicate there’s anything Islamic about this doll,” Rofkahr said. Rofkahr said he found several versions of the doll at Wal-Mart and Target in Owasso. Those stores have since been pulled the dolls from the shelves. The dolls are sold nationwide. A Target spokesperson said their company has no plans to pull the doll from all of its shelves.” Now, you can’t explain this one away by lead plumbing or mouldy wheat!
