  • My 3 year old daughter was sitting on my tummy eating grapes, her thoughts were miles away. Fortunately my camera was next to me, so I got a really cute series of shots before she realised what I was doing… Taken with a Canon EOD 450D / Shutter 1/8 / Aperture F5.6 / ISO 400 / Focal length 50mm / Available light I am currently Photoshopless, hopefully for not much longer. So thanks to a little tutorial from tracylb on processing raw in Canon DPP, I added a red filter effect and basic contrast adjustments. I would love some advice on post processing in Photoshop as I hope to get myself a copy asap…Thank you in advance Winner: Children – The Power of Raw Emotion – Unsure challenge / Top Ten finish: Mood & Ambiance – Expressive eyes challenge

  • The sight of a tiny tot playing on an ancient 16th century tombstone in St Pee, France, stirred all kinds of philosopical musings as I thought of the biblical phrase “number thy days” – Life is short, so make the most of it. Which causes me to wonder if Mozart knew he would live only 30 some years and if that explains his prodigious output in beautiful music…..

  • My daughter perched on a rock, examining moss – this is her concentrating face so I know she’s found something teeny weeny that needs her attention! Taken with a Canon EOS 450D – handheld so its surprisingly sharp for my wibbly wobbly hands! / Aperture F5.6 / Shutter 1/15 / ISO 400 / Focal length 55mm / Vignette added in Lightroom FEATURED Sept 2009: Candid Photographs of Friends and Family

  • The moon is there to control the emotions, waves and life.. let the dreaming begin of a better life ahead. My daughter Tammy was laying on the lounge watching the Wiggles when I took this picture of her, the rest of the image around her was manipulated and experimented on, I turned the lounge into the moon then gave it a almost fairy dust illusion of crumbling. Finally I created a grunge texture using brushes. / The process took around 35 minutes, I was almost falling off to sleep then looked at the time to discover it was almost 4am.! Here’s the original: / Olympus E-300 / 35 mm / F/3.5 / 1/80 sec. / ISO-100
