  • Chestnut Grove Pano
    by Flamejob

    US$4.56–US$121.60

Seville, Vic, Australia. I saw this grove of Chestnut trees on the side of the road and jumped a barbed wire fence to shoot it. It was such a surreal morning with the mist rolling through the trees. Took about a dozen shots here and stole 7 chestnuts which I had with my dinner that night. It was only after uploading this that I decided that I’m not entirely happy with it. I have about 10 different versions of it shot at different angles some of which I think are a little better.

Horse Chestnut Tree in the mist with the sun breaking through

  • Lord of the Rings
    by Robyn Carter

    US$3.70–US$98.80

This horse was used in the Lord of the Rings movie. I found hiim while I was out walking and was informed by my cousin that he is Brego…. There is a scene that they left out of the movie. i think it might be in the deleted scenes on the regular movie. But if you remember that King Theodens son dies , well Brego was his horse. Brego is actually in 2 scenes. but the scene im talking about is named “Brego” Its right before Gandalf and Pippin leave for Gondor, Aragorn is in the stable and there is this horse who is really agitated, and there are a few men trying to calm him. So Aragorn walks over and speaks to him in Elvish and the horse calms down magically. Eyowen sees this and says “His name is Brego, he was my cousins horse” Aragorn says “Brego , ((in elvish: your name is kingly)) Eyowen says “I’ve heard of the magic of Elves but would never expect to find it in a ranger from the north” Aragorn says “I was raised in Rivendale . . . for a time” and he lets Brego go saying that “he’s seen to much war for his time” or something like that, and you see him gallop off. The second time you see Brego is after the battle with the wolves of Isengard. When Aragorn falls into the river and then washes up on the bank , Arwen sends a horse to help him and he rides that horse to Helm’s Deep, well that horse was Brego , and if you listen Aragorn SAYS the word Brego! So thats where the horse came from.

  • Pheasant Coucal
    by blossom

    US$3.42–US$91.20

Blossom’s_Photo_Gallery Pheasant Coucal (Centropus phasianinus) Came across this beautiful pheasant on our way back from Vrilya Point, Cape York Peninsula, Far North Queensland. 100% of proceeds received from Redbubble in respect to sales of “Pheasant Coucal” will be donated to “thegreataustraliancancerbushwalk” for the Cancer Council. Please check out Michael Mitchell’s website www.thegreatcancerwalk.com.au A large ‘pheasant-like’, ground-dwelling cuckoo, the Pheasant Coucal has a long tail and short rounded wings. The head and back a reddish chestnut colour and the underparts are cinnamon brown. The eye is red. When disturbed, coucals run rather than fly, or fly clumsily, plunging into cover. They are found in northern and eastern Australia, as well as New Guinea and East Timor. It is found from the Pilbara, Western Australia, to south-eastern New South Wales. In New South Wales it is mainly found east of the Great Dividing Range from the Queensland border to the southern Hunter region, with some around Sydney and further south to Illawarra. The Pheasant Coucal prefers dense understorey vegetation, particularly grasses, rushes, bracken and sedges, in open forests and woodlands, and around wetlands. Often found in sugar cane plantations near wetlands, on farmlands with thick grasses and weed-infested thickets, such as Lantana.

  • Back In Time
    by Gary L. Suddath

    US$4.50–US$120.08

Step back in time. Enjoy the beautiful fall view they had from their backyard. This is a part of the Mountain Farm Museum, in the Great Smoky Mountains…. This is the Davis-Queen house. It was moved to this location from the Thomas Divide area on Indian Creek in NC. It was built around 1899, and is made of chestnut. Saw mills were around at this time so a frame house would have been possible but John Davis chose to build a log home…..The Meathouse off to the left was usually located close to the main house. This one came from Little Cataloochee, NC….Pork was one of the main meats of the early Appalachians. They had verities of wild meats and other farm animals as they do today, but the good old hog was what went mostly in the meathouse…. Some may call these smokehouses as this was a way of keeping the meat also. They would hang the meat in the building and build a smoky fire for a week or more. This could give a wonderful flavor to the meat but also produced a chemical reaction to the meat that helps preserve it from bugs and bacteria. Another method was to salt cure the meat. This was done by covering the meat with salt. It would then be placed on shelves or in some type of container. Once the salt was soaked into the meat it would slow down bacteria. Both methods was done in cold weather so the meat wouldn’t spoil till it had time to cure….The picket fence was often used around yards and gardens, back then they didn’t fence the farm animals in but out so they could roam the mountain and forest for food. A froe or mallet was often used to hand split the paling. The pointed to discouraged the chickens from standing on the….. The bare tree in the center was a walnut tree, which provides a mix of things from dyes to a food source….The museum is located at the visitor center at the Cherokee NC entrance to the Smokies. It includes must the building from that era. These were moved from different area of the park, The barn is the only original structure that was here to start with. From time to time you will see those dressed from this time period doing various chores.

“The eyes of this friendly horse captivated me. Keeping a short distance from my face, he looked at me intently with an inquiring eye. The afternoon sunlight was golden and bathed his coat in a sheer layer. The mane flew softly around his pretty face while he demanded to be given a carrot with steady hoof stamps in front of me. / / I had no carrots, yet a friendly pat on his velvety muzzle earnt me a swift amicable slurp from his soft lips.
