  • CHESTER CATHEDRAL AT NIGHT

  • A boat on the river in Chester, England from the bridge. I love the sparkles in the water which came out really well because I did nothing else to the photo

  • The unique thing about this state park, located close to Chattanooga Tennesse, is it has the Tennessee River going along two sides of it. I was able to get sunsets across the river as well as sunrises (thanks ros..lol)

  • Staying at a hunting lodge in Chester I marvelled at the way their livestock was portrayed on the walls, thusly set about with my attempt of the pride of Chester, a robust almost larger than life sheep…

  • Taken with a Canon 400D, Canon 100 – 400 L series len, F5.6, shutter speed 1/1000 seconds ISO400, edited in Photoshop Marmots are generally large ground squirrels. Those most often referred to as marmots tend to live in mountainous areas such as the Alps, northern Apennines, Carpathians, Tatra, and Pyrenees in Europe, the Rockies and the Sierra Nevada in the United States, and Northern Canada. However, the groundhog is also properly called a marmot, while the similarly-sized but more social prairie dog is not classified in the genus Marmota but in the related genus Cynomys.

  • While visiting in Pennsylvania, I always go to my Grammy’s grave to pay my respects. This time I went not only to do just that, but also to capture deer, since I have seen them there before. Unfortunately, the deer saw me before I saw them – scratch that idea!! However, I took pictures of beautiful old trees while the sun was setting. I knew this would be a spectacular sunset and sure enough I was right!! It was awesome to see such beauty in a place that is very sacred to me! This photograph was shot with a Canon 40D and has not been manipulated other than to increase the shadows. /

  • This White Pine Tree was beautiful as the sun cast through its branches creating beautiful colors! I added an accented edge to give the needles more of a glow. This photograph was taken in West Chester, Pennsylvania, right behind my parent’s house, with a Canon 40D. /

  • I met a nice young couple and their children, who live on a very large farm, located in West Chester, Pennsylvania. Five generations have lived here, which makes it a special place! They told me that on cloudy, rainy and/or foggy mornings that a Bald Eagle sits in a big old dead tree. As much as I love birds, I had yet to see a Bald Eagle in the wild, other than a juvenile, while kayaking in Pennsylvania some time ago. I lucked out! Sure enough, it was cloudy and as I drove up the long drive, I spotted a big black bird in the faraway tree. Tip toeing and acting sort of nonchalant, I slowly closed in on the Eagle. I was ecstatic! Here, for the very first time in my life, I was capturing the United States symbol in my zoom lens. She sat for a while and then flew off in a large circle and then came back for a touchdown. Once again, she flew off. Each time, I had my camera on him and was speed shooting, trying very hard not to let her out of my sight. Once so plentiful Bald Eagles were designated America’s national symbol in 1782. However, Bald Eagles had become indirect victims of an insect-killing chemical that made their eggs so brittle, that they broke when females sat on them. Unable to successfully hatch a brood, Eagle populations nationwide slowly declined and ultimately disappeared from many areas. Bald Eagles were very close to distinction in Pennsylvania. In 1983, there were only three known nests. Since then, they have made an incredible comeback. In June, 2007, there were 132 known nests and 150 Eaglets. The state’s largest concentrations of Eagle nests are along the lower Susquehanna River, the upper Delaware River basin and the wetland-dominated Pymatuning region in northwestern Pennsylvania. Bald Eagles prefer to nest near water. More and more are migrating from Maryland’s Chesapeake Bay. What a day it was sighting this beautiful bird with my lens. It was a first for me and wow, she was majestic indeed!! This photograph was shot with a Canon 40D and a 300mm lens in West Chester, Pennsylvania.

  • July 20th, 2009 produced one heck of a mighty sunrise! As I traversed over a golf course and came closer to the rising sun, I was in awe of the incredible sky paintings that illuminated the ground I stood on! One of my favorite old Joni Mitchell songs, is “Circle Game.” It seems fitting for this picture. It’s my hope that you enjoy both the sunset and Joni!! This photograph was shot with a Canon 40D wide angle 75mm lens in West Chester, Pennsylvania. Circle Game – Joni Mitchell Yesterday, a child came out to wander / Caught a dragonfly inside a jar / Fearful when the sky was full of thunder / And tearful at the falling of a star And the seasons they go ‘round and ‘round / And the painted ponies go up and down / We’re captive on the carousel of time / We can’t return we can only look behind / From where we came / And go round and round and round / In the circle game Then, the child moved ten times ‘round the seasons / Skated over ten clear frozen streams / Words like, “When you’re older”, must appease him / And promises of someday make his dreams And the seasons they go ‘round and ‘round / And the painted ponies go up and down / We’re captive on the carousel of time / We can’t return we can only look behind / From where we came, / and go round and round and round / In the circle game Sixteen springs and sixteen summers gone now / Cartwheels turn to car wheels through the town / And they tell him, “Take your time. It won’t be long now. / ‘Til you drag your feet to slow the circles down” And the seasons they go ‘round and ‘round / And the painted ponies go up and down / We’re captive on the carousel of time / We can’t return we can only look behind / From where we came / And go round and round and round / In the circle game So the years spin by and now the boy is twenty / Though his dreams have lost some grandeur coming true / There’ll be new dreams, maybe better dreams and plenty / Before the last revolving year is through. And the seasons they go ‘round and ‘round / And the painted ponies go up and down / We’re captive on the carousel of time / We can’t return, we can only look behind / From where we came / And go round and ‘round and ‘round / In the circle game / And go ‘round and ‘round and ‘round in the circle game.

  • As soon as I saw the sun rising, I raced off to get to the golf course in my Parent’s retirement village, not quite expecting what I saw. The sky was amazing. Full of incredibly vivid color, I was totally awestruck! This is one of the first pictures that I took. This is the kind of picture that I can meditate with perfect peace and harmony. If only it could have stayed this way, however, Mother Nature is ever changing. I wouldn’t have it any other way either. Thank God for the ability to do a one second CLICK! One of my very favorite songs that I find meditative and very flowing, just like this sunset is by Loreena McKennitt – The Mummer’s Dance / This picture is dedicated to ALL of my watchlist, which I haven’t been able to watch, due to lack of time…However, things are easing up a bit and I should be back with ya’awl soon for a bit!! I hope you enjoy this and know that I am there with you in spirit! / This photograph was shot with a Canon 40D 75mm wide angle lens in West Chester, Pennsylvania. Lyrics to The Mummers’ Dance When in the springtime of the year / When the trees are crowned with leaves / When the ash and oak, and the birch and yew / Are dressed in ribbons fair When owls call the breathless moon / In the blue veil of the night / The shadows of the trees appear / Amidst the lantern light We’ve been rambling all the night / And some time of this day / Now returning back again / we bring a garland gay Who will go down to those shady groves / And summon the shadows there / And tie a ribbon on those sheltering arms / In the springtime of the year The songs of birds seem to fill the wood / That when the fiddler plays / All their voices can be heard / Long past their woodland days And so they linked their hands and danced / Round in circles and in rows / And so the journey of the night descends / When all the shades are gone A garland gay we bring you here / And at your door we stand / It is a sprout well budded out / The work of Our Lord’s hand

This is a magnificent asiatic lion which are now only found wild in India, there are only around 350 left in their natural habitat. Asiatic lions are smaller and lighter than their African counterparts, but are equally aggressive. Please view large
