Pebbles on Chesil Beach, Dorset.

Chesil Beach is located on the south coast of England in the county of Dorset. It is a pebble beach 18 miles long and stretches north-west from Portland to West Bay. For much of its length it is separated from the mainland by an area of saline water called the Fleet Lagoon.

This pebble beach is about 24 miles long….or is it kilometers.Fishermen arriiving at night knew exactly where they were because the pebbles varied in size all the way along the stretch. / not something we attempted on otr hols.

Technical Data / Date : 22 October 2008 13:42 / Camera : Nikon D300 / Lens : Nikon 18-70mm f/3.5-4.5 / Focal Length : 18mm / Shutter Speed : 1/400 / Aperture : f/10 / ISO : 200 / Mode : Raw / Post Processing : Photoshop CS3 This started out as a collection of 40 shots which I merged together in Photoshop. The resulting image was over 18,000×4,000! I thought this was a little too large, so I croped it down to 8,000×3,800.
